तेषामध्वविशुद्ध्यादि कुर्यान्मातृकुलोचितम् ॥ या तु कन्या स्वपित्राद्यैश्शिवधर्मे नियोजिता ॥ ६६ ॥
One should perform rituals appropriate to the mother’s family, such as cleansing the roads. The daughter of Lord Śiva was engaged by her father and others in the religious duties of Lord Śiva.
english translation
teSAmadhvavizuddhyAdi kuryAnmAtRkulocitam ॥ yA tu kanyA svapitrAdyaizzivadharme niyojitA ॥ 66 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसा भक्ताय प्रदातव्या नापराय विरोधिने ॥ दत्ता चेत्प्रतिकूलाय प्रमादाद्बोधयेत्पतिम् ॥ ६७ ॥
That is to be given to the devotee and not to anyone else who is opposed to it. If the wife is given to an unfavorable wife, she should inadvertently awaken her husband.

sA bhaktAya pradAtavyA nAparAya virodhine ॥ dattA cetpratikUlAya pramAdAdbodhayetpatim ॥ 67 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअशक्ता तं परित्यज्य मनसा धर्ममाचरेत् ॥ यथा मुनिवरं त्यक्त्वा पतिमत्रिं पतिव्रता ॥ ६८ ॥
If she is unable to do so, she should abandon him and practice religious principles with her mind. Just as a chaste woman abandoned her husband, the great sage Atri,

azaktA taM parityajya manasA dharmamAcaret ॥ yathA munivaraM tyaktvA patimatriM pativratA ॥ 68 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृतकृत्या ऽभवत्पूर्वं तपसाराध्य शङ्करम् ॥ यथा नारायणं देवं तपसाराध्य पांडवान् ॥ ६९ ॥
She had previously achieved her objective by performing austerities and worshiping Lord Śiva. Just as the Pāṇḍavas worshiped Lord Nārāyaṇa by performing austerities,

kRtakRtyA 'bhavatpUrvaM tapasArAdhya zaGkaram ॥ yathA nArAyaNaM devaM tapasArAdhya pAMDavAn ॥ 69 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपतींल्लब्धवती धर्मे गुरुभिर्न नियोजिता ॥ अस्वातन्त्र्यकृतो दोषो नेहास्ति परमार्थतः ॥ ७० ॥
She obtained a husband who was not engaged by her spiritual masters in religious matters In the ultimate sense there is no fault in this world caused by lack of independence.
