ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ जय देव महादेव प्रणतार्तिविभंजन ॥ ईदृशेष्वपराधेषु को ऽन्यस्त्वत्तः प्रसीदति ॥ ३१ ॥

sanskrit

Brahmā said:— O lord, be victorious. O destroyer of the distress of your devotees, who else other than you becomes pleased when offences are of this nature?

brahmovAca ॥ jaya deva mahAdeva praNatArtivibhaMjana ॥ IdRzeSvaparAdheSu ko 'nyastvattaH prasIdati ॥ 31 ॥

लब्धमानो भविष्यंति ये पुरा निहिता मृधे ॥ प्रत्यापत्तिर्न कस्य स्यात्प्रसन्ने परमेश्वरे ॥ ३२ ॥

Those who are killed in battle will regain their souls. When the lord is delighted who will not revive?

labdhamAno bhaviSyaMti ye purA nihitA mRdhe ॥ pratyApattirna kasya syAtprasanne paramezvare ॥ 32 ॥

यदिदं देवदेवानां कृतमन्तुषु दूषणम् ॥ तदिदं भूषणं मन्येत अंगीकारगौरवात् ॥ ३३ ॥

The fault in the offences committed by the gods, O lord, is actually a blessing because of the weightiness of your acceptance. I consider so.

When Lord Brahmā, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, informed him of this, Seeing the face of the goddess the god of the gods seemed to smile.

पुत्रभूतस्य वात्सल्याद्ब्रह्मणः पद्मजन्मनः ॥ देवादीनां यथापूर्वमंगानि प्रददौ प्रभुः ॥ ३५ ॥

The lotus-born Lord Brahmā, out of affection for Him, became His son. The lord gave the limbs of the devas and others as before.

putrabhUtasya vAtsalyAdbrahmaNaH padmajanmanaH ॥ devAdInAM yathApUrvamaMgAni pradadau prabhuH ॥ 35 ॥
