नमोस्तु सर्वलोकाय सर्वलोकविधायिने ॥ सर्वात्मदेहसंयोग वियोगविधिहेतवे ॥ २१ ॥

Obeisance to the deity identical with the world, the creator, the sustainer and the annihilator of the world.

त्वयैव निखिलं सृष्टं संहृतं पालितं जगत् ॥ तथापि मायया नाथ न विद्मस्त्वां पितामह ॥ २२ ॥

O Brahmā, it is by you alone that the entire universe is created, sustained and annihilated. Still, due to illusion, O lord, we do not know you.

english translation

tvayaiva nikhilaM sRSTaM saMhRtaM pAlitaM jagat ॥ tathApi mAyayA nAtha na vidmastvAM pitAmaha ॥ 22 ॥

सूत उवाच एवं ब्रह्मा महाभागैर्महर्षिभिरभिष्टुतः ॥ प्राह गंभीरया वाचा मुनीन् प्रह्लादयन्निव ॥ २३ ॥

Sūta said:— Thus eulogised by the fortunate sages, Brahmā spoke to the sages in a majestic tone delighting them.

sUta uvAca evaM brahmA mahAbhAgairmaharSibhirabhiSTutaH ॥ prAha gaMbhIrayA vAcA munIn prahlAdayanniva ॥ 23 ॥

ब्रह्मोवाच ऋषयो हे महाभागा महासत्त्वा महौजसः ॥ किमर्थं सहितास्सर्वे यूयमत्र समागताः ॥ २४ ॥

Brahmā said:— O blessed sages of great splendour and strength, why have you come here all together?

brahmovAca RSayo he mahAbhAgA mahAsattvA mahaujasaH ॥ kimarthaM sahitAssarve yUyamatra samAgatAH ॥ 24 ॥

तमेवंवादिनं देवं ब्रह्माणं ब्रह्मवित्तमाः ॥ वाग्भिर्विनयगर्भाभिस्सर्वे प्रांजलयो ऽब्रुवन् ॥ २५ ॥

The sages foremost of those who know Brahman spoke with palms joined in reverence, with words couched in humility to lord Brahmā who spoke thus.

tamevaMvAdinaM devaM brahmANaM brahmavittamAH ॥ vAgbhirvinayagarbhAbhissarve prAMjalayo 'bruvan ॥ 25 ॥
