अकस्मान्मम भर्तारमजाताशेषदूषणम् ॥ वाचा दूषयसे दक्ष साक्षाल्लोकमहेश्वरम् ॥ ४६ ॥
O Dakṣa, you insult my husband the lord of the world, whose insult no one has hitherto made.
english translation
akasmAnmama bhartAramajAtAzeSadUSaNam ॥ vAcA dUSayase dakSa sAkSAllokamahezvaram ॥ 46 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविद्याचौरो गुरुद्रोही वेदेश्वरविदूषकः ॥ त एते बहुपाप्मानस्सर्वे दंड्या इति श्रुतिः ॥ ४७ ॥
The Śruti says that these are great sinners—viz. a stealer of learning, a traitor to the preceptor and an insulter of the Vedas and of the god. They deserve to be punished.
english translation
vidyAcauro gurudrohI vedezvaravidUSakaH ॥ ta ete bahupApmAnassarve daMDyA iti zrutiH ॥ 47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मादत्युत्कटस्यास्य पापस्य सदृशो भृशम् ॥ सहसा दारुणो दंडस्तव दैवाद्भविष्यति ॥ ४८ ॥
Therefore a terrible punishment befitting the great sin shall be meted out to you by divine intercession.
english translation
tasmAdatyutkaTasyAsya pApasya sadRzo bhRzam ॥ sahasA dAruNo daMDastava daivAdbhaviSyati ॥ 48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्वया न पूजितो यस्माद्देवदेवस्त्रियंबकः ॥ तस्मात्तव कुलं दुष्टं नष्टमित्यवधारय ॥ ४९ ॥
Since the lord of gods has not been worshipped by you, know that your family is defiled and ruined.
english translation
tvayA na pUjito yasmAddevadevastriyaMbakaH ॥ tasmAttava kulaM duSTaM naSTamityavadhAraya ॥ 49 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्युक्त्वा पितरं रुष्टा सती संत्यक्तसाध्वसा ॥ तदीयां च तनुं त्यक्त्वा हिमवंतं ययौ गिरिम् ॥ ५० ॥
After saying thus to her father Satī abandoned her body and without fear went to mountain Himavat.
english translation
ityuktvA pitaraM ruSTA satI saMtyaktasAdhvasA ॥ tadIyAM ca tanuM tyaktvA himavaMtaM yayau girim ॥ 50 ॥
