दक्षस्य मम पुत्रस्य पुत्री भव भवार्दिनि ॥ एवं सा याचिता देवी ब्रह्मणा ब्रह्मयोनिना ॥ २१ ॥
O daughter of Bhava, please become the daughter of my son Dakṣa. Lord Brahmā, who was born of Brahmā, thus requested the goddess Durgā.
english translation
dakSasya mama putrasya putrI bhava bhavArdini ॥ evaM sA yAcitA devI brahmaNA brahmayoninA ॥ 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशक्तिमेकां भ्रुवोर्मध्यात्ससर्जात्मसमप्रभाम् ॥ तामाह प्रहसन्प्रेक्ष्य देवदेववरो हरः ॥ २२ ॥
From between his eyebrows he evolved one energy, effulgent like his own. Seeing her, Lord Śiva, the best of the demigods, smiled and addressed her as follows.

zaktimekAM bhruvormadhyAtsasarjAtmasamaprabhAm ॥ tAmAha prahasanprekSya devadevavaro haraH ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्माणं तपसाराध्य कुरु तस्य यथेप्सितम् ॥ तामाज्ञां परमेशस्य शिरसा प्रतिगृह्य सा ॥ २३ ॥
Worship Lord Brahmā by performing austerities and fulfill his desire. She accepted the command of the Supreme Lord with her head bowed.

brahmANaM tapasArAdhya kuru tasya yathepsitam ॥ tAmAjJAM paramezasya zirasA pratigRhya sA ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मणो वचनाद्देवी दक्षस्य दुहिताभवत् ॥ दत्त्वैवमतुलां शक्तिं ब्रह्मणे ब्रह्मरूपिणीम् ॥ २४ ॥
At the behest of Lord Brahmā, the goddess Durgā became the daughter of Dakṣa. Having thus bestowed upon the Supreme Personality of Godhead His incomparable power in the form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead,

brahmaNo vacanAddevI dakSasya duhitAbhavat ॥ dattvaivamatulAM zaktiM brahmaNe brahmarUpiNIm ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविवेश देहं देवस्य देवश्चांतरधीयत ॥ तदा प्रभृति लोके ऽस्मिन् स्त्रियां भोगः प्रतिष्ठितः ॥ २५ ॥
He entered the body of the demigod and disappeared. From that time onwards, the pleasure of women in this world has been established.

viveza dehaM devasya devazcAMtaradhIyata ॥ tadA prabhRti loke 'smin striyAM bhogaH pratiSThitaH ॥ 25 ॥
