वायुरुवाच ॥ स्थाने पृष्टमिदं विप्रा भवद्भिः प्रश्नकोविदैः ॥ इदमेव पुरा पृष्टो मम प्राह पितामहः ॥ ११ ॥
Vāyu said:— O Brahmins, this question has been well put by you, experts in the art of queries. I had put the same query to Brahmā who replied suitably.
english translation
तदहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि यथा रुद्रसमुद्भवः ॥ यथा च पुनरुत्पत्तिर्ब्रह्मविष्ण्वोः परस्परम् ॥ १२ ॥
I shall narrate how Rudra was born and how Brahmā and Viṣṇu were born from each other.
english translation
त्रयस्ते कारणात्मानो जतास्साक्षान्महेश्वरात् ॥ चराचरस्य विश्वस्य सर्गस्थित्यंतहेतवः ॥ १३ ॥
These three elements are directly born of the Supreme Personality of Godhead They are the causes of the creation, existence and end of the moving and nonmoving universe.
english translation
परमैश्वर्यसंयुक्ताः परमेश्वरभाविताः ॥ तच्छक्त्याधिष्ठिता नित्यं तत्कार्यकरणक्षमाः ॥ १४ ॥
They were endowed with supreme opulence and were contemplated by the Supreme Lord They are always possessed by that power and are capable of performing that function.
english translation
पित्रा नियमिताः पूर्वं त्रयोपि त्रिषु कर्मसु ॥ ब्रह्मा सर्गे हरिस्त्राणे रुद्रः संहरणे तथा ॥ १५ ॥
In the past, all three of them were regulated by their father in all three activities. Brahma in creation and Hari in protection and Rudra in destruction.
