अप्रसन्नमना भूत्वा द्वितीयं सो ऽभ्यमन्यत ॥ तस्याभिधायतः सर्गं तिर्यक्स्रोतो ऽभ्यवर्तत ॥ ६ ॥
Unhappy with his mind, he decided to take a second chance. While he was describing the creation, a stream of water began to flow in a diagonal direction.
english translation
aprasannamanA bhUtvA dvitIyaM so 'bhyamanyata ॥ tasyAbhidhAyataH sargaM tiryaksroto 'bhyavartata ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्तःप्रकाशास्तिर्यंच आवृताश्च बहिः पुनः ॥ पश्वात्मानस्ततो जाता उत्पथग्राहिणश्च ते ॥ ७ ॥
These animals had light within but not without. They had the form of animals and went a wrong path.
english translation
antaHprakAzAstiryaMca AvRtAzca bahiH punaH ॥ pazvAtmAnastato jAtA utpathagrAhiNazca te ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतमप्यसाधकं ज्ञात्वा सर्गमन्यममन्यत ॥ तदोर्ध्वस्रोतसो वृत्तो देवसर्गस्तु सात्त्विकः ॥ ८ ॥
When this creation too proved ineffective the creation of the gods of the Sāttvika type took place.
english translation
tamapyasAdhakaM jJAtvA sargamanyamamanyata ॥ tadordhvasrotaso vRtto devasargastu sAttvikaH ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते सुखप्रीतिबहुला बहिरन्तश्च नावृताः ॥ प्रकाशा बहिरन्तश्चस्वभावादेव संज्ञिताः ॥ ९ ॥
Men had plenty of pleasure, were not concealed but had light within and light without. They had innate consciousness too.
english translation
te sukhaprItibahulA bahirantazca nAvRtAH ॥ prakAzA bahirantazcasvabhAvAdeva saMjJitAH ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो ऽभिध्यायतोव्यक्तादर्वाक्स्रोतस्तु साधकः ॥ मनुष्यनामा सञ्जातः सर्गो दुःखसमुत्कटः ॥ १० ॥
Again he meditated and from the unmanifest evolved the human creation which had a downward trend. Though effective it was full of misery.

tato 'bhidhyAyatovyaktAdarvAksrotastu sAdhakaH ॥ manuSyanAmA saJjAtaH sargo duHkhasamutkaTaH ॥ 10 ॥
