ईश्वरासक्तमनसो न चक्रुः सृष्टये मतिम् ॥ तेषु सृष्ट्यनपेक्षेषु गतेषु सनकादिषु ॥ २१ ॥
With their minds attached to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, they did not contemplate creation. After the creation of the universe, Sanaka and others passed away.
english translation
IzvarAsaktamanaso na cakruH sRSTaye matim ॥ teSu sRSTyanapekSeSu gateSu sanakAdiSu ॥ 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्रष्टुकामः पुनर्ब्रह्मा तताप परमं तपः ॥ तस्यैवं तप्यमानस्य न किंचित्समवर्तत ॥ २२ ॥
Desiring to create again, Lord Brahmā underwent severe austerities. While he was thus tormented, nothing happened to him.
english translation
sraSTukAmaH punarbrahmA tatApa paramaM tapaH ॥ tasyaivaM tapyamAnasya na kiMcitsamavartata ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो दीर्घेण कालेन दुःखात्क्रोधो व्यजायत ॥ क्रोधाविष्टस्य नेत्राभ्यां प्रापतन्नश्रुबिन्दवः ॥ २३ ॥
When a long time elapsed he was distressed and his distress turned into anger. From the eyes of the infuriated Brahmā drops of tears fell.

tato dIrgheNa kAlena duHkhAtkrodho vyajAyata ॥ krodhAviSTasya netrAbhyAM prApatannazrubindavaH ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस्तेभ्यो ऽश्रुबिन्दुभ्यो भूताः प्रेतास्तदाभवन् ॥ सर्वांस्तानश्रुजान्दृष्ट्वा ब्रह्मात्मानमनिंदत ॥ २४ ॥
From these goblins and ghosts emerged. On seeing these born of tears Brahmā censured himself.
english translation
tatastebhyo 'zrubindubhyo bhUtAH pretAstadAbhavan ॥ sarvAMstAnazrujAndRSTvA brahmAtmAnamaniMdata ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य तीव्रा ऽभवन्मूर्छा क्रोधामर्षसमुद्भवा ॥ मूर्छितस्तु जहौ प्राणान्क्रोधाविष्टः प्रजापतिः ॥ २५ ॥
As a result of anger and annoyance he fell into swoon. Then the enraged Brahmā cast off his breath.

tasya tIvrA 'bhavanmUrchA krodhAmarSasamudbhavA ॥ mUrchitastu jahau prANAnkrodhAviSTaH prajApatiH ॥ 25 ॥
