शिवयोगमयीं निद्रां कुर्वन्तं त्रिदशेश्वरम् ॥ बद्धांजलि पुटास्सिद्धा जनलोकनिवासिनः ॥ १६ ॥
Lord Śiva, the lord of the demigods, was sleeping in the yoga of Lord Śiva. The inhabitants of Janaloka are perfect in their folded hands.
english translation
zivayogamayIM nidrAM kurvantaM tridazezvaram ॥ baddhAMjali puTAssiddhA janalokanivAsinaH ॥ 16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तोत्रैः प्रबोधयामासुः प्रभातसमये सुराः ॥ यथा सृष्ट्यादिसमये ईश्वरं श्रुतयः पुरा ॥ १७ ॥
At dawn the demigods awakened him with hymns. Just as the Vedas in the past described God at the beginning of creation.
english translation
stotraiH prabodhayAmAsuH prabhAtasamaye surAH ॥ yathA sRSTyAdisamaye IzvaraM zrutayaH purA ॥ 17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः प्रबुद्ध उत्थाय शयनात्तोयमध्यगात् ॥ उदैक्षत दिशः सर्वा योगनिद्रालसेक्षणः ॥ १८ ॥
The lord woke up, got up from his bed and came to the water. He looked all round at the quarters with the Yogic slumber still lingering in the eyes idly.
english translation
tataH prabuddha utthAya zayanAttoyamadhyagAt ॥ udaikSata dizaH sarvA yoganidrAlasekSaNaH ॥ 18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनापश्यत्स तदा किंचित्स्वात्मनो व्यतिरेकि यत् ॥ सविस्मय इवासीनः परां चिंतामुपागमत् ॥ १९ ॥
He did not see anything except himself He sat up like a wonderstruck person and began to ponder deeply.
english translation
nApazyatsa tadA kiMcitsvAtmano vyatireki yat ॥ savismaya ivAsInaH parAM ciMtAmupAgamat ॥ 19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्व सा भगवती या तु मनोज्ञा महती मही ॥ नानाविधमहाशैलनदीनगरकानना ॥ २० ॥
“Where is that charming goddess the great Earth, with her lofty mountains, rivers, cities and forests.”
english translation
kva sA bhagavatI yA tu manojJA mahatI mahI ॥ nAnAvidhamahAzailanadInagarakAnanA ॥ 20 ॥
