नन्दीश्वर उवाच ।। इत्याकर्ण्य महेशानो वीरभद्रोक्तमादरात् ।। विलोक्य वचनम्प्रीत्या प्रोवाच खल दण्डधृक् ।। ११ ।।

Nandīśvara said:— On hearing the words of Vīrabhadra, and glancing at his face respectfully lord Śiva, the chastiser of the wicked, said lovingly.

english translation

nandIzvara uvAca || ityAkarNya mahezAno vIrabhadroktamAdarAt || vilokya vacanamprItyA provAca khala daNDadhRk || 11 ||

।। शंकर उवाच ।। अकाले भयमुत्पन्नं देवानामपि भैरवम् ।। ज्वलितस्य नृसिंहाग्निश्शमयैनं दुरासदम् ।। १२।।

Śiva said:— An untimely terrible fear has cropped up tor the gods. The fire of that man-lion is blazing You shall quell this inaccessible one.

english translation

|| zaMkara uvAca || akAle bhayamutpannaM devAnAmapi bhairavam || jvalitasya nRsiMhAgnizzamayainaM durAsadam || 12||

सान्त्वयन्बोधयादौ तं तेन किन्नोपशाम्यति ।। ततो मत्परमं भावं भैरवं सम्प्रदर्शय ।। १३ ।।

At the outset convince him in a consoling manner, If he does not subside thereby, show my great terrible form.

english translation

sAntvayanbodhayAdau taM tena kinnopazAmyati || tato matparamaM bhAvaM bhairavaM sampradarzaya || 13 ||

सूक्ष्मं संहृत्य सूक्ष्मेण स्थूलं स्थूलेन तेजसा ।। वक्त्रमानाय कृत्तिं च वीरभद्र ममाज्ञया ।। १४ ।।

O Vīrabhadra, at my behest, bring me his head and hide after quelling his subtle fury with your subtle one and his gross splendour with your gross one.

english translation

sUkSmaM saMhRtya sUkSmeNa sthUlaM sthUlena tejasA || vaktramAnAya kRttiM ca vIrabhadra mamAjJayA || 14 ||

नन्दीश्वर उवाच ।। इत्यादिष्टो गणाध्यक्षो प्रशान्तं वपुरास्थितः।। जगाम रंहसा तत्र यत्रास्ते नरकेसरी ।। १५ ।।

Nandīśvara said:— Urged thus, the leader of the Gaṇas, assumed a calm body and features and hastened to the place where the man-lion was sitting.

english translation

nandIzvara uvAca || ityAdiSTo gaNAdhyakSo prazAntaM vapurAsthitaH|| jagAma raMhasA tatra yatrAste narakesarI || 15 ||
