हिमालयं न गच्छेयं जनकं तव शैलजे ॥ ततस्त्वां भिक्षुको भूत्वा न याचेयं कथंचन ॥ २६ ॥
O daughter of the mountain, I will not go up to Himavat your father. I will not become a mendicant and beg of him for you.
english translation
महागुणैर्गरिष्ठोपि महात्मापि गिरीन्द्रजे ॥ देहीतिवचनात्सद्यः पुरुषो याति लाघवम् ॥२७॥
O daughter of the lord of mountains, even a weighty person endowed with great qualities, even a noble soul, is considered base immediately after uttering the words—“Please give me”.

इत्थं ज्ञात्वा तु कल्याणि किमस्माकं वदस्यथ ॥ कार्य्यं त्वदाज्ञया भद्रे यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु ॥ २८ ॥
O benevolent lady, after knowing this what is it that you say is our duty? Gentle lady, do as you wish.
english translation
॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ तेनोक्तापि महादेवी सा साध्वी कमलेक्षणा ॥ जगाद शंकरं भक्त्या सुप्रणम्य पुनः पुनः॥२९॥
Brahmā said: Thus addressed, the great goddess, the chaste lady of lotus-like eyes told Śiva with devotion after bowing to Him again and again.

पार्वत्युवाच ॥ त्वमात्मा प्रकृतिश्चाहं नात्र कार्य्या विचारणा ॥ स्वतन्त्रौ भक्तवशगौ निर्गुणौ सगुणावपि ॥ 2-3-29-३० ॥
Pārvatī said: You are the cosmic soul and I am the cosmic nature. There is nothing to deliberate on this. We two are independent and subservient to the devotees. We two are both possessed and devoid of attributes.
