इत्यादिविकृताकारा अनेके प्रबला गणाः ।। असंख्यातास्तथा तात महावीरा भयंकराः ।। ५६ ।।

Such and other innumerable deformed Gaṇas, heroic and terrible, strong and strenuous passed by, O dear.

ityAdivikRtAkArA aneke prabalA gaNAH || asaMkhyAtAstathA tAta mahAvIrA bhayaMkarAH || 56 ||

अंगुल्या दर्शयँस्त्वं तां मुने रुद्रगणाँस्ततः ।। हरस्य सेवकान्पश्य हरं चापि वरानने ।। ५७ ।।

O sage, you pointed out the Gaṇas of Śiva to her with your finger and said—“O lovely lady, see the attendants of Śiva and Śiva Himself.”

english translation

aMgulyA darzaya~stvaM tAM mune rudragaNA~stataH || harasya sevakAnpazya haraM cApi varAnane || 57 ||

असंख्यातान् गणान् दृष्ट्वा भूतप्रेतादिकान् मुने ।। तत्क्षणादभवत्सा वै मेनका त्राससंकुला ।। ५८ ।।

O sage, on seeing the innumerable Gaṇas, Bhūtas and Pretas, Menakā was terribly frightened instantaneously.

english translation

asaMkhyAtAn gaNAn dRSTvA bhUtapretAdikAn mune || tatkSaNAdabhavatsA vai menakA trAsasaMkulA || 58 ||

तन्मध्ये शंकरं चैव निर्गुणं गुणवत्तरम् ।। वृषभस्थं पञ्चवक्त्रं त्रिनेत्रं भूतिभूषितम् ।। ५९ ।।

On seeing Śiva in their midst, the mother of Pārvatī trembled. She saw Śiva who though devoid of attributes was better than those who had all the attributes, He was seated on the Bull. He had five faces and three eyes.

tanmadhye zaMkaraM caiva nirguNaM guNavattaram || vRSabhasthaM paJcavaktraM trinetraM bhUtibhUSitam || 59 ||

कपर्दिनं चन्द्रमौलिं दशहस्तं कपालि नम् ।। व्याघ्रचर्मोत्तरीयञ्च पिनाकवरपाणिनम् ।। 2.3.43.६० ।।

He had ashes smeared over the body. He had matted hair with the crescent moon on His head. He had ten hands with the skull in one of them. His upper cloth was tiger’s hide.
