    क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत । क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम ॥ १३-३॥kSetrajJaM cApi mAM viddhi sarvakSetreSu bhArata । kSetrakSetrajJayorjJAnaM yattajjJAnaM mataM mama ॥ 13-3॥And, O scion of the Bharata dynasty, under-stand Me to be the ' Kshetragya ( Knower of the field )' in all the fields. In My opinion, that is Knowledge which is the knowledge of the kshetra ( field ) and the kshetragya ( knower of the field ).

Of the Yakshas and Rakshasas, I am the Lord of wealth (Kubera). Of the Vasus, I am Agni; of the mountains, I am Meru.

How should I know You, meditating on You ? In what several entities, hey Bhagavan, are You to be contemplated upon by me ?

Certainly, hey Bhagvan, neither the gods nor the demons comprehend Your glory.

    तुल्यनिन्दास्तुतिर्मौनी सन्तुष्टो येन केनचित् । अनिकेतः स्थिरमतिर्भक्तिमान्मे प्रियो नरः ॥ १२-१९॥tulyanindAstutirmaunI santuSTo yena kenacit । aniketaH sthiramatirbhaktimAnme priyo naraH ॥ 12-19॥The person to whom denunciation and praise are the same, who is silent, content with anything, who is not attached to home, steady-minded, and full of devotion that man is dear to Me.

    तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमः । नाशयाम्यात्मभावस्थो ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वता ॥ १०-११॥teSAmevAnukampArthamahamajJAnajaM tamaH । nAzayAmyAtmabhAvastho jJAnadIpena bhAsvatA ॥ 10-11॥Out of mere compassion for them, I, dwelling within their Self, destroy the darkness born of ignorance by the luminous lamp of knowledge.

    अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्तते । इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विताः ॥ १०-८॥ahaM sarvasya prabhavo mattaH sarvaM pravartate । iti matvA bhajante mAM budhA bhAvasamanvitAH ॥ 10-8॥I am the source of all; from Me everything evolves; understanding thus, the wise, endowed with meditation, worship Me.

    यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति । शुभाशुभपरित्यागी भक्तिमान्यः स मे प्रियः ॥ १२-१७॥yo na hRSyati na dveSTi na zocati na kAGkSati । zubhAzubhaparityAgI bhaktimAnyaH sa me priyaH ॥ 12-17॥He who neither rejoices, nor hates, nor grieves, nor desires, renouncing good and evil, and who is full of devotion, is dear to Me.
