    उपस्पृशंस्त्रिषवणं पितॄन् देवांश्च तर्पयेत् । तपस्चरंश्चोग्रतरं शोषयेद् देहमात्मनः ॥ २४ ॥upaspRzaMstriSavaNaM pitRRn devAMzca tarpayet । tapascaraMzcogrataraM zoSayed dehamAtmanaH ॥ 24 ॥When he bathes at the three Savanas (sunrise, midday, and sunset), let him offer libations of water to the manes and the gods, and practising harsher and harsher austerities, let him dry up his bodily frame.

    पित्रा भर्त्रा सुतैर्वाऽपि नेच्छेद् विरहमात्मनः । एषां हि विरहेण स्त्री गर्ह्ये कुर्यादुभे कुले ॥ १४९ ॥pitrA bhartrA sutairvA'pi necched virahamAtmanaH । eSAM hi viraheNa strI garhye kuryAdubhe kule ॥ 149 ॥She must not seek to separate herself from her father, husband, or sons; by leaving them she would make both (her own and her husband’s) families contemptible.

    चरूणां स्रुक्स्रुवाणां च शुद्धिरुष्णेन वारिणा । स्फ्यशूर्पशकटानां च मुसलौलूखलस्य च ॥ ११७ ॥carUNAM sruksruvANAM ca zuddhiruSNena vAriNA । sphyazUrpazakaTAnAM ca musalaulUkhalasya ca ॥ 117 ॥The Karu and (the spoons called) Sruk and Sruva must be cleaned with hot water, likewise (the wooden sword, called) Sphya, the winnowing-basket (Surpa), the cart (for bringing the grain), the pestle and the mortar.
