    एष लक्ष्मण निष्क्रामत्यगस्त्यो भगवानृषिः । औदार्येणावगच्छामि निधानं तपसामिमम् ॥ ३-१२-२३eSa lakSmaNa niSkrAmatyagastyo bhagavAnRSiH । audAryeNAvagacchAmi nidhAnaM tapasAmimam ॥ 3-12-23- 'Oh ! Lakshmana, sage Agastya is coming out. By virtue of his noble appearance, I know this sage to be a great treasure trove of penances.' ॥ 3-12-23॥

The valiant Rama said to Lakshmana, the enhancer of prosperity - ॥ 3-12-22॥

    कार्तिकेयस्य च स्थानं धर्मस्थानं च पश्यति । ततः शिष्यैः परिवृतो मुनिरप्यभिनिष्पतत् ॥ ३-१२-२१kArtikeyasya ca sthAnaM dharmasthAnaM ca pazyati । tataH ziSyaiH parivRto munirapyabhiniSpatat ॥ 3-12-21- the sanctum of Kaartikeya ( son of Shiva ) - chief of gods army, and the sanctum of Dharma are seen. Thereafter surrounded by the disciples the sage came out. ॥ 3-12-21॥

    स्थानं तथैव गायत्र्या वसूनां स्थानमेव च । स्थानं च पाशहस्तस्य वरुणस्य महात्मनः ॥ ३-१२-२०sthAnaM tathaiva gAyatryA vasUnAM sthAnameva ca । sthAnaM ca pAzahastasya varuNasya mahAtmanaH ॥ 3-12-20- and the sanctum of Gayatri - the presiding deity of gnosis, sanctum of Vasus - eight of them and Pasahasta's (one who holds the noose in his hand to pull and punish the mortals), great Varuna - the rain-god - ॥ 3-12-20॥

    दातुर्विधातुः स्थानेच वायोः स्थानं तथैव च । नागराजस्य च स्थानमनन्तस्य महात्मनः ॥ ३-१२-१९dAturvidhAtuH sthAneca vAyoH sthAnaM tathaiva ca । nAgarAjasya ca sthAnamanantasya mahAtmanaH ॥ 3-12-19- sanctums of Dhaata, Vidhaata - vedic deities created by Brahma to help svayambhuu Manu, sanctum of Vaayu - the air-god and also like that the sanctum of Ananta (great serpent-king) . - ॥ 3-12-19॥

    विष्णोः स्थानं महेन्द्रस्य स्थानं चैव विवस्वतः । सोमस्थानं भगस्थानं स्थानं कौबेरमेव च ॥ ३-१२-१८viSNoH sthAnaM mahendrasya sthAnaM caiva vivasvataH । somasthAnaM bhagasthAnaM sthAnaM kauberameva ca ॥ 3-12-18- Vishnu, Indra, Vivasvat - the Sun-god, Soma - the Moon-god, Bhaga - one among the twelve Suns, and the sanctusms of Kubera, ( Wealth-Management-god ) - ॥ 3-12-18॥

    प्रशान्तहरिणाकीर्णमाश्रमं ह्यवलोकयन् । स तत्र ब्रह्मणः स्थानमग्नेः स्थानं तथैव च ॥ ३-१२-१७prazAntahariNAkIrNamAzramaM hyavalokayan । sa tatra brahmaNaH sthAnamagneH sthAnaM tathaiva ca ॥ 3-12-17- the hermitage, watching herds of quietly moving deer (undisturbed by their entry). There ( at the hermitage ) he ( saw ) the sanctus of Brahma, Fire-god - ॥ 3-12-17॥

    प्रावेशयद्यथान्यायं सत्कारार्हं सुसत्कृतम् । प्रविवेश ततो रामस्सीतया सहलक्ष्मणः ॥ ३-१२-१६prAvezayadyathAnyAyaM satkArArhaM susatkRtam । praviveza tato rAmassItayA sahalakSmaNaH ॥ 3-12-16- and ushered him in with befitting hospitality. Then Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana entered . - ॥ 3-12-16॥

    दर्शयामास काकुत्स्थं सीतां च जनकात्मजाम् । तं शिष्यः प्रश्रितो वाक्यमगस्त्यवचनं ब्रुवन् ॥ ३-१२-१५darzayAmAsa kAkutsthaM sItAM ca janakAtmajAm । taM ziSyaH prazrito vAkyamagastyavacanaM bruvan ॥ 3-12-15- and showed Rama of the Kakutstha race and Sita, daughter of Janaka. The disciple humbly reported Agastya's words . - ॥ 3-12-15॥

    क्वासौ रामो मुनिं द्रष्टुमेतु प्रविशतु स्वयम् । ततो गत्वाऽऽश्रमपदं शिष्येण सह लक्ष्मणः ॥ ३-१२-१४kvAsau rAmo muniM draSTumetu pravizatu svayam । tato gatvA''zramapadaM ziSyeNa saha lakSmaNaH ॥ 3-12-14- 'Where is Rama? Let him come himself to see the sage'. Then Lakshmana reached the entrance of the hermitage with the disciple . - ॥ 3-12-14॥
