    दर्शयन्ति क्षितिं चैव दक्षिणां च दिशं मृगाः । साधु गच्छावहे देव दिशमेतां हि नैऋतिम् ॥ ३-६४-२२darzayanti kSitiM caiva dakSiNAM ca dizaM mRgAH । sAdhu gacchAvahe deva dizametAM hi naiRtim ॥ 3-64-22Oh ! lord these deer are indicating the land on the southern side. Therefore it will be proper for both of us to proceed in the southwestern direction. ॥ 3-64-22॥

    नूनं बतायं भगवानर्थेषु न निष्णातो योऽसाविन्द्रो यस्य सचिवो मन्त्राय वृत एकान्ततो बृहस्पतिस्तमतिहाय यमुपेन्द्रेणात्मानमयाचतात्मनश्चाशिषो नो एव तद्दास्यमतिगम्भीरवयसः कालस्य मन्वन्तरपरिवृत्तं कियल्लोकत्रयमिदम् ॥ ५-२४-२४ ॥nUnaM batAyaM bhagavAnartheSu na niSNAto yo'sAvindro yasya sacivo mantrAya vRta ekAntato bRhaspatistamatihAya yamupendreNAtmAnamayAcatAtmanazcAziSo no eva taddAsyamatigambhIravayasaH kAlasya manvantaraparivRttaM kiyallokatrayamidam ॥ 5-24-24 ॥Alas, how pitiable it is for Indra, the King of heaven, that although he is very learned and powerful and although he chose Bṛhaspati as his prime minister to instruct him, he is completely ignorant concerning spiritual advancement. Bṛhaspati is also unintelligent because he did not properly instruct his disciple Indra. Lord Vāmanadeva was standing at Indra’s door, but King Indra, instead of begging Him for an opportunity to render transcendental loving service, engaged Him in asking me for alms to gain the three worlds for his sense gratification. Sovereignty over the three worlds is very insignificant because whatever material opulence one may possess lasts only for an age of Manu, which is but a tiny fraction of endless time. ॥ 5-24-24 ॥

    पुनश्च मार्गमिच्छन्ति लक्ष्मणेनोपलक्षिताः । तेषां वचनसर्वस्वं लक्षयामास चेङ्गितम् ॥ ३-६४-२०punazca mArgamicchanti lakSmaNenopalakSitAH । teSAM vacanasarvasvaM lakSayAmAsa ceGgitam ॥ 3-64-20- again intend to go in that direction, even Lakshmana marked that. Observing their indications and understanding the meaning of their message fully . - ॥ 3-64-20॥

Those deer were showing and looking at the path lying in that direction - ॥ 3-64-19॥
