अग्न॒ आ या॑ह्य॒ग्निभि॒र्होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे । आ त्वाम॑नक्तु॒ प्रय॑ता ह॒विष्म॑ती॒ यजि॑ष्ठं ब॒र्हिरा॒सदे॑ ॥ अग्न आ याह्यग्निभिर्होतारं त्वा वृणीमहे । आ त्वामनक्तु प्रयता हविष्मती यजिष्ठं बर्हिरासदे ॥
Agni, come here with the fires, we choose you as our invoking priest; let the presented offering anointyou, the chief sacrificer, to sit down on the sacred grass.

agna॒ A yA॑hya॒gnibhi॒rhotA॑raM tvA vRNImahe । A tvAma॑naktu॒ praya॑tA ha॒viSma॑tI॒ yaji॑SThaM ba॒rhirA॒sade॑ ॥ agna A yAhyagnibhirhotAraM tvA vRNImahe । A tvAmanaktu prayatA haviSmatI yajiSThaM barhirAsade ॥

Aṅgirasa, son of strength, the ladles go to find you in the sacrifice; we praise the ancient Agni in ourofferings, the grandson of food, butter-haired.

acchA॒ hi tvA॑ sahasaH sUno aGgira॒: sruca॒zcara॑ntyadhva॒re । U॒rjo napA॑taM ghR॒take॑zamImahe॒'gniM ya॒jJeSu॑ pU॒rvyam ॥ acchA hi tvA sahasaH sUno aGgiraH srucazcarantyadhvare । Urjo napAtaM ghRtakezamImahe'gniM yajJeSu pUrvyam ॥

Agni, you, wise, are the creator (of consequences); O purifier, you are the involving priest, worthy ofworship; bright one, you are to be praised in our sacrifices by the priests with hymns, yourself the chief ministrant worthy to be rejoiced in.

agne॑ ka॒virve॒dhA a॑si॒ hotA॑ pAvaka॒ yakSya॑: । ma॒ndro yaji॑STho adhva॒reSvIDyo॒ vipre॑bhiH zukra॒ manma॑bhiH ॥ agne kavirvedhA asi hotA pAvaka yakSyaH । mandro yajiSTho adhvareSvIDyo viprebhiH zukra manmabhiH ॥

Most youthful, eternal one, bring the longing gods to me guileless, to eat (the oblation); giver of dwellings, approach the well-placed food; rejoice, being set in your place with praises.

adro॑gha॒mA va॑hoza॒to ya॑viSThya de॒vA~ a॑jasra vI॒taye॑ । a॒bhi prayAM॑si॒ sudhi॒tA va॑so gahi॒ manda॑sva dhI॒tibhi॑rhi॒taH ॥ adroghamA vahozato yaviSThya devA~ ajasra vItaye । abhi prayAMsi sudhitA vaso gahi mandasva dhItibhirhitaH ॥

Deliverer Agni, you, the truthful and the seer, are widely spread; O kindled blazing one, the wise praisers wait on you.
