इन्द्रो॒तिभि॑र्बहु॒लाभि॑र्नो अ॒द्य या॑च्छ्रे॒ष्ठाभि॑र्मघवञ्छूर जिन्व । यो नो॒ द्वेष्ट्यध॑र॒: सस्प॑दीष्ट॒ यमु॑ द्वि॒ष्मस्तमु॑ प्रा॒णो ज॑हातु ॥ इन्द्रोतिभिर्बहुलाभिर्नो अद्य याच्छ्रेष्ठाभिर्मघवञ्छूर जिन्व । यो नो द्वेष्ट्यधरः सस्पदीष्ट यमु द्विष्मस्तमु प्राणो जहातु ॥

Indra, hero,possessor of wealth, protect us this day against our foes with many and excellent defences; may the vile wretch who hates us fall (before us); may the breath of life depart from him whom we hate.

प॒र॒शुं चि॒द्वि त॑पति शिम्ब॒लं चि॒द्वि वृ॑श्चति । उ॒खा चि॑दिन्द्र॒ येष॑न्ती॒ प्रय॑स्ता॒ फेन॑मस्यति ॥ परशुं चिद्वि तपति शिम्बलं चिद्वि वृश्चति । उखा चिदिन्द्र येषन्ती प्रयस्ता फेनमस्यति ॥

As (the tree) suffers pain from the axe, as the śimbal flower is (easily) cut off, as the injured cauldron leaking scatters foam, so may mine enemy perish.

english translation

pa॒ra॒zuM ci॒dvi ta॑pati zimba॒laM ci॒dvi vR॑zcati | u॒khA ci॑dindra॒ yeSa॑ntI॒ praya॑stA॒ phena॑masyati || parazuM cidvi tapati zimbalaM cidvi vRzcati | ukhA cidindra yeSantI prayastA phenamasyati ||

न साय॑कस्य चिकिते जनासो लो॒धं न॑यन्ति॒ पशु॒ मन्य॑मानाः । नावा॑जिनं वा॒जिना॑ हासयन्ति॒ न ग॑र्द॒भं पु॒रो अश्वा॑न्नयन्ति ॥ न सायकस्य चिकिते जनासो लोधं नयन्ति पशु मन्यमानाः । नावाजिनं वाजिना हासयन्ति न गर्दभं पुरो अश्वान्नयन्ति ॥

Men, (the might) of the destroyer is not known toyou; regarding him as a mere animal, they lead him away desirous (silently to complete his devotions); the wise condescend not to turn the foolish into ridicule, they do not lead the ass before the horse.

english translation

na sAya॑kasya cikite janAso lo॒dhaM na॑yanti॒ pazu॒ manya॑mAnAH | nAvA॑jinaM vA॒jinA॑ hAsayanti॒ na ga॑rda॒bhaM pu॒ro azvA॑nnayanti || na sAyakasya cikite janAso lodhaM nayanti pazu manyamAnAH | nAvAjinaM vAjinA hAsayanti na gardabhaM puro azvAnnayanti ||

इ॒म इ॑न्द्र भर॒तस्य॑ पु॒त्रा अ॑पपि॒त्वं चि॑कितु॒र्न प्र॑पि॒त्वम् । हि॒न्वन्त्यश्व॒मर॑णं॒ न नित्यं॒ ज्या॑वाजं॒ परि॑ णयन्त्या॒जौ ॥ इम इन्द्र भरतस्य पुत्रा अपपित्वं चिकितुर्न प्रपित्वम् । हिन्वन्त्यश्वमरणं न नित्यं ज्यावाजं परि णयन्त्याजौ ॥

These sons of Bharata, Indra, understand severance (from the Vasiṣṭhas), not association (with them); they urge their steeds (against them) as against a constant foe; they bear a stout bow (for their destruction) in battle.

i॒ma i॑ndra bhara॒tasya॑ pu॒trA a॑papi॒tvaM ci॑kitu॒rna pra॑pi॒tvam | hi॒nvantyazva॒mara॑NaM॒ na nityaM॒ jyA॑vAjaM॒ pari॑ NayantyA॒jau || ima indra bharatasya putrA apapitvaM cikiturna prapitvam | hinvantyazvamaraNaM na nityaM jyAvAjaM pari NayantyAjau ||
