इ॒च्छन्ति॑ त्वा सो॒म्यास॒: सखा॑यः सु॒न्वन्ति॒ सोमं॒ दध॑ति॒ प्रयां॑सि । तिति॑क्षन्ते अ॒भिश॑स्तिं॒ जना॑ना॒मिन्द्र॒ त्वदा कश्च॒न हि प्र॑के॒तः ॥ इच्छन्ति त्वा सोम्यासः सखायः सुन्वन्ति सोमं दधति प्रयांसि । तितिक्षन्ते अभिशस्तिं जनानामिन्द्र त्वदा कश्चन हि प्रकेतः ॥

sanskrit

The bearers of the libations desire you; your friends pour forth the Soma; they offer copious oblations; (supported by) you they endure patiently the calumny of men, for who is so renowned as you are.

english translation

i॒cchanti॑ tvA so॒myAsa॒: sakhA॑yaH su॒nvanti॒ somaM॒ dadha॑ti॒ prayAM॑si | titi॑kSante a॒bhiza॑stiM॒ janA॑nA॒mindra॒ tvadA kazca॒na hi pra॑ke॒taH || icchanti tvA somyAsaH sakhAyaH sunvanti somaM dadhati prayAMsi | titikSante abhizastiM janAnAmindra tvadA kazcana hi praketaH ||

न ते॑ दू॒रे प॑र॒मा चि॒द्रजां॒स्या तु प्र या॑हि हरिवो॒ हरि॑भ्याम् । स्थि॒राय॒ वृष्णे॒ सव॑ना कृ॒तेमा यु॒क्ता ग्रावा॑णः समिधा॒ने अ॒ग्नौ ॥ न ते दूरे परमा चिद्रजांस्या तु प्र याहि हरिवो हरिभ्याम् । स्थिराय वृष्णे सवना कृतेमा युक्ता ग्रावाणः समिधाने अग्नौ ॥

sanskrit

Master of tawny steeds, the remotest regions are not remote for you; then come quickly with your horses; to you the steady showerer (of benefits), these sacrifices are presented; the stones (for bruising the Soma) are ready, as the fire is being kindled.

english translation

na te॑ dU॒re pa॑ra॒mA ci॒drajAM॒syA tu pra yA॑hi harivo॒ hari॑bhyAm | sthi॒rAya॒ vRSNe॒ sava॑nA kR॒temA yu॒ktA grAvA॑NaH samidhA॒ne a॒gnau || na te dUre paramA cidrajAMsyA tu pra yAhi harivo haribhyAm | sthirAya vRSNe savanA kRtemA yuktA grAvANaH samidhAne agnau ||

इन्द्र॑: सु॒शिप्रो॑ म॒घवा॒ तरु॑त्रो म॒हाव्रा॑तस्तुविकू॒र्मिॠघा॑वान् । यदु॒ग्रो धा बा॑धि॒तो मर्त्ये॑षु॒ क्व१॒॑ त्या ते॑ वृषभ वी॒र्या॑णि ॥ इन्द्रः सुशिप्रो मघवा तरुत्रो महाव्रातस्तुविकूर्मिॠघावान् । यदुग्रो धा बाधितो मर्त्येषु क्व त्या ते वृषभ वीर्याणि ॥

sanskrit

Showerer (of benefits), who are Indra, the wearer of the helmet, the professor of opulence, the conveyor (of men beyond the evil), the leader of the numerous troops (of the Maruts), the achiever of many great deeds, the devastation of hostile (regions), the terror of your foes, where are those heroic deeds (which you have performed) against the mortal (asuras) when opposed (by them in battle).

त्वं हि ष्मा॑ च्या॒वय॒न्नच्यु॑ता॒न्येको॑ वृ॒त्रा चर॑सि॒ जिघ्न॑मानः । तव॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी पर्व॑ता॒सोऽनु॑ व्र॒ताय॒ निमि॑तेव तस्थुः ॥ त्वं हि ष्मा च्यावयन्नच्युतान्येको वृत्रा चरसि जिघ्नमानः । तव द्यावापृथिवी पर्वतासोऽनु व्रताय निमितेव तस्थुः ॥

sanskrit

You alone casting down the firmly-footed (asuras) proceed, destroying the Vṛtras, and obedient to your command the heaven and earth and the mountains stood as if immoveable.

english translation

tvaM hi SmA॑ cyA॒vaya॒nnacyu॑tA॒nyeko॑ vR॒trA cara॑si॒ jighna॑mAnaH | tava॒ dyAvA॑pRthi॒vI parva॑tA॒so'nu॑ vra॒tAya॒ nimi॑teva tasthuH || tvaM hi SmA cyAvayannacyutAnyeko vRtrA carasi jighnamAnaH | tava dyAvApRthivI parvatAso'nu vratAya nimiteva tasthuH ||

उ॒ताभ॑ये पुरुहूत॒ श्रवो॑भि॒रेको॑ दृ॒ळ्हम॑वदो वृत्र॒हा सन् । इ॒मे चि॑दिन्द्र॒ रोद॑सी अपा॒रे यत्सं॑गृ॒भ्णा म॑घवन्का॒शिरित्ते॑ ॥ उताभये पुरुहूत श्रवोभिरेको दृळ्हमवदो वृत्रहा सन् । इमे चिदिन्द्र रोदसी अपारे यत्संगृभ्णा मघवन्काशिरित्ते ॥

You alone, when invoked by many, and the slayer of Vṛtra, by your prowess, did say firmly (to the gods), fear not! Indra, endowed with opulence, vast is your grasp, wherewith you have seized these unbounded regions, heaven and earth.
