अ॒ग्निं होता॑रं॒ प्र वृ॑णे मि॒येधे॒ गृत्सं॑ क॒विं वि॑श्व॒विद॒ममू॑रम् । स नो॑ यक्षद्दे॒वता॑ता॒ यजी॑यान्रा॒ये वाजा॑य वनते म॒घानि॑ ॥ अग्निं होतारं प्र वृणे मियेधे गृत्सं कविं विश्वविदममूरम् । स नो यक्षद्देवताता यजीयान्राये वाजाय वनते मघानि ॥
I have recourse in this sacrifice to Agni, the invoker and praiser (of the gods), theintelligent, the all-knowing the unbeguiled; may he, the adorable, sacrificer for us to the gods, (and) accept the precious (offerings) we make for food and riches.
english translation
प्र ते॑ अग्ने ह॒विष्म॑तीमिय॒र्म्यच्छा॑ सुद्यु॒म्नां रा॒तिनीं॑ घृ॒ताची॑म् । प्र॒द॒क्षि॒णिद्दे॒वता॑तिमुरा॒णः सं रा॒तिभि॒र्वसु॑भिर्य॒ज्ञम॑श्रेत् ॥ प्र ते अग्ने हविष्मतीमियर्म्यच्छा सुद्युम्नां रातिनीं घृताचीम् । प्रदक्षिणिद्देवतातिमुराणः सं रातिभिर्वसुभिर्यज्ञमश्रेत् ॥
Reverencing the gods, I plural ce before you Agni, the brilliant oblation-yielding, food-bestowing, butter-charged (offering); may you (propitiated) by the present wealth, sanctify (this) sacrifice by your circumambulation.
english translation
स तेजी॑यसा॒ मन॑सा॒ त्वोत॑ उ॒त शि॑क्ष स्वप॒त्यस्य॑ शि॒क्षोः । अग्ने॑ रा॒यो नृत॑मस्य॒ प्रभू॑तौ भू॒याम॑ ते सुष्टु॒तय॑श्च॒ वस्व॑: ॥ स तेजीयसा मनसा त्वोत उत शिक्ष स्वपत्यस्य शिक्षोः । अग्ने रायो नृतमस्य प्रभूतौ भूयाम ते सुष्टुतयश्च वस्वः ॥
He who isprotected, Agni, by you, becomes endowed with a most luminous mind; bestow upon him excellent progeny; may we ever be under the power of you who is the willing dispenser of riches; glorifying you (may we be) the receptacles of wealth.
english translation
भूरी॑णि॒ हि त्वे द॑धि॒रे अनी॒काग्ने॑ दे॒वस्य॒ यज्य॑वो॒ जना॑सः । स आ व॑ह दे॒वता॑तिं यविष्ठ॒ शर्धो॒ यद॒द्य दि॒व्यं यजा॑सि ॥ भूरीणि हि त्वे दधिरे अनीकाग्ने देवस्य यज्यवो जनासः । स आ वह देवतातिं यविष्ठ शर्धो यदद्य दिव्यं यजासि ॥
The ministering priests have concentrated in you Agni, who are divine, many hosts (of flames); do you bring hither the gods, youngest (of the deities), that you may worship today the divine effulgence.
english translation
यत्त्वा॒ होता॑रम॒नज॑न्मि॒येधे॑ निषा॒दय॑न्तो य॒जथा॑य दे॒वाः । स त्वं नो॑ अग्नेऽवि॒तेह बो॒ध्यधि॒ श्रवां॑सि धेहि नस्त॒नूषु॑ ॥ यत्त्वा होतारमनजन्मियेधे निषादयन्तो यजथाय देवाः । स त्वं नो अग्नेऽवितेह बोध्यधि श्रवांसि धेहि नस्तनूषु ॥
Inasmuch as the attendant divine (priests) anoint you as the invoker of the gods to offer worship in the sacrifice, therefore do you assent to be our protector on this occasion, and grant abundant food to our descendants.
