स॒प्त म॒र्यादा॑: क॒वय॑स्ततक्षु॒स्तासा॒मेका॒मिद॒भ्यं॑हु॒रो गा॑त् । आ॒योर्ह॑ स्क॒म्भ उ॑प॒मस्य॑ नी॒ळे प॒थां वि॑स॒र्गे ध॒रुणे॑षु तस्थौ ॥ सप्त मर्यादाः कवयस्ततक्षुस्तासामेकामिदभ्यंहुरो गात् । आयोर्ह स्कम्भ उपमस्य नीळे पथां विसर्गे धरुणेषु तस्थौ ॥
The ise have established seven rules of conduct; he is a sinner who deviates from any one of theṃAgni is the obstructor of (that) man, he abides in the dwelling of his neighbour, in the region of the scattering ofthe rays, and in the recipient (waters).
english translation
sa॒pta ma॒ryAdA॑: ka॒vaya॑statakSu॒stAsA॒mekA॒mida॒bhyaM॑hu॒ro gA॑t । A॒yorha॑ ska॒mbha u॑pa॒masya॑ nI॒Le pa॒thAM vi॑sa॒rge dha॒ruNe॑Su tasthau ॥ sapta maryAdAH kavayastatakSustAsAmekAmidabhyaMhuro gAt । Ayorha skambha upamasya nILe pathAM visarge dharuNeSu tasthau ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअस॑च्च॒ सच्च॑ पर॒मे व्यो॑म॒न्दक्ष॑स्य॒ जन्म॒न्नदि॑तेरु॒पस्थे॑ । अ॒ग्निर्ह॑ नः प्रथम॒जा ऋ॒तस्य॒ पूर्व॒ आयु॑नि वृष॒भश्च॑ धे॒नुः ॥ असच्च सच्च परमे व्योमन्दक्षस्य जन्मन्नदितेरुपस्थे । अग्निर्ह नः प्रथमजा ऋतस्य पूर्व आयुनि वृषभश्च धेनुः ॥
Non-existent, and existent (is Agni) in the supreme heaven, in the birth-plural ce of Dakṣa, and in thepresence of Aditi; Agni is elder born to us (who enjoy the fruit) of the sacrifice; in the olden time he was the bulland the cow.
