वा॒जिन्त॑माय॒ सह्य॑से सुपित्र्य तृ॒षु च्यवा॑नो॒ अनु॑ जा॒तवे॑दसे । अ॒नु॒द्रे चि॒द्यो धृ॑ष॒ता वरं॑ स॒ते म॒हिन्त॑माय॒ धन्व॒नेद॑विष्य॒ते ॥ वाजिन्तमाय सह्यसे सुपित्र्य तृषु च्यवानो अनु जातवेदसे । अनुद्रे चिद्यो धृषता वरं सते महिन्तमाय धन्वनेदविष्यते ॥

O Agni, who has fair ancestors, (I have) arrived quickly to (praise) you, the most bountiful bestower offood, the overcomer (of foes), the Jātavedas, (I who offer) the best to you, the most mighty being, the protectorin calamity, with your capable (bow).

english translation

vA॒jinta॑mAya॒ sahya॑se supitrya tR॒Su cyavA॑no॒ anu॑ jA॒tave॑dase | a॒nu॒dre ci॒dyo dhR॑Sa॒tA varaM॑ sa॒te ma॒hinta॑mAya॒ dhanva॒neda॑viSya॒te || vAjintamAya sahyase supitrya tRSu cyavAno anu jAtavedase | anudre cidyo dhRSatA varaM sate mahintamAya dhanvanedaviSyate ||

ए॒वाग्निर्मर्तै॑: स॒ह सू॒रिभि॒र्वसु॑: ष्टवे॒ सह॑सः सू॒नरो॒ नृभि॑: । मि॒त्रासो॒ न ये सुधि॑ता ऋता॒यवो॒ द्यावो॒ न द्यु॒म्नैर॒भि सन्ति॒ मानु॑षान् ॥ एवाग्निर्मर्तैः सह सूरिभिर्वसुः ष्टवे सहसः सूनरो नृभिः । मित्रासो न ये सुधिता ऋतायवो द्यावो न द्युम्नैरभि सन्ति मानुषान् ॥

In this manner, Agni, the son of strength, is glorified by (us his) worshippers, together with piousmortals, for the sake of wealth-- (his worshippers) who, like delighted friends, desiring the sacrifice, like shining(ones), overcome (hostile) men through his might.

english translation

e॒vAgnirmartai॑: sa॒ha sU॒ribhi॒rvasu॑: STave॒ saha॑saH sU॒naro॒ nRbhi॑: | mi॒trAso॒ na ye sudhi॑tA RtA॒yavo॒ dyAvo॒ na dyu॒mnaira॒bhi santi॒ mAnu॑SAn || evAgnirmartaiH saha sUribhirvasuH STave sahasaH sUnaro nRbhiH | mitrAso na ye sudhitA RtAyavo dyAvo na dyumnairabhi santi mAnuSAn ||

ऊर्जो॑ नपात्सहसाव॒न्निति॑ त्वोपस्तु॒तस्य॑ वन्दते॒ वृषा॒ वाक् । त्वां स्तो॑षाम॒ त्वया॑ सु॒वीरा॒ द्राघी॑य॒ आयु॑: प्रत॒रं दधा॑नाः ॥ ऊर्जो नपात्सहसावन्निति त्वोपस्तुतस्य वन्दते वृषा वाक् । त्वां स्तोषाम त्वया सुवीरा द्राघीय आयुः प्रतरं दधानाः ॥

"Offspring of food! vigorous (Agni)", thus the praise of Upastuta, showering forth oblations, glorifiesyou. "Let us praise you; through you let us obtain excellent male progeny, enjoying long protracted life". them and the pious, worshippers. Urjo॑ napAtsahasAva॒nniti॑ tvopastu॒tasya॑ vandate॒ vRSA॒ vAk | tvAM sto॑SAma॒ tvayA॑ su॒vIrA॒ drAghI॑ya॒ Ayu॑: prata॒raM dadhA॑nAH || Urjo napAtsahasAvanniti tvopastutasya vandate vRSA vAk | tvAM stoSAma tvayA suvIrA drAghIya AyuH prataraM dadhAnAH ||

इति॑ त्वाग्ने वृष्टि॒हव्य॑स्य पु॒त्रा उ॑पस्तु॒तास॒ ऋष॑योऽवोचन् । ताँश्च॑ पा॒हि गृ॑ण॒तश्च॑ सू॒रीन्वष॒ड्वष॒ळित्यू॒र्ध्वासो॑ अनक्ष॒न्नमो॒ नम॒ इत्यू॒र्ध्वासो॑ अनक्षन् ॥ इति त्वाग्ने वृष्टिहव्यस्य पुत्रा उपस्तुतास ऋषयोऽवोचन् । ताँश्च पाहि गृणतश्च सूरीन्वषड्वषळित्यूर्ध्वासो अनक्षन्नमो नम इत्यूर्ध्वासो अनक्षन् ॥

Thus the sages, the sons of the rain-god, gave birth to you, O fire, and the sages. Protect them from the sun, and the sun, the moon, and the moon, and the elevation of the body, and the upper garments, and the upper body. The sons of the fire-god, who was thus present in the fire, addressed you, O fire, and the sages. O Lord, please protect them from the sun-god, who is the source of all the six years of the sun-god.
