प्र ये शुम्भ॑न्ते॒ जन॑यो॒ न सप्त॑यो॒ याम॑न्रु॒द्रस्य॑ सू॒नव॑: सु॒दंस॑सः । रोद॑सी॒ हि म॒रुत॑श्चक्रि॒रे वृ॒धे मद॑न्ति वी॒रा वि॒दथे॑षु॒ घृष्व॑यः ॥ प्र ये शुम्भन्ते जनयो न सप्तयो यामन्रुद्रस्य सूनवः सुदंससः । रोदसी हि मरुतश्चक्रिरे वृधे मदन्ति वीरा विदथेषु घृष्वयः ॥

The Maruts who are going forth decorate themselves like feminine les; they are gliders (through the air), the sons of Rudra, and doers of good works by which they promote the welfare of earth and heaven; heroes, who grind (solid rocks), they delight in sacrifices.

त उ॑क्षि॒तासो॑ महि॒मान॑माशत दि॒वि रु॒द्रासो॒ अधि॑ चक्रिरे॒ सद॑: । अर्च॑न्तो अ॒र्कं ज॒नय॑न्त इन्द्रि॒यमधि॒ श्रियो॑ दधिरे॒ पृश्नि॑मातरः ॥ त उक्षितासो महिमानमाशत दिवि रुद्रासो अधि चक्रिरे सदः । अर्चन्तो अर्कं जनयन्त इन्द्रियमधि श्रियो दधिरे पृश्निमातरः ॥

They, inaugurated by the gods, have attained majesty; the sons of Rudra have established their dwelling above the sky; glorify him (Indra) who merits to be glorified, they have inspired him with vigour; the sons of Pṛśni have acquired dominion.

गोमा॑तरो॒ यच्छु॒भय॑न्ते अ॒ञ्जिभि॑स्त॒नूषु॑ शु॒भ्रा द॑धिरे वि॒रुक्म॑तः । बाध॑न्ते॒ विश्व॑मभिमा॒तिन॒मप॒ वर्त्मा॑न्येषा॒मनु॑ रीयते घृ॒तम् ॥ गोमातरो यच्छुभयन्ते अञ्जिभिस्तनूषु शुभ्रा दधिरे विरुक्मतः । बाधन्ते विश्वमभिमातिनमप वर्त्मान्येषामनु रीयते घृतम् ॥

When the sonf of earth embellish themselves with ornaments, they shine resplendent in their person ns with (brilliant) decorations; they keep aloof every adversary; the waters follow their path.

वि ये भ्राज॑न्ते॒ सुम॑खास ऋ॒ष्टिभि॑: प्रच्या॒वय॑न्तो॒ अच्यु॑ता चि॒दोज॑सा । म॒नो॒जुवो॒ यन्म॑रुतो॒ रथे॒ष्वा वृष॑व्रातास॒: पृष॑ती॒रयु॑ग्ध्वम् ॥ वि ये भ्राजन्ते सुमखास ऋष्टिभिः प्रच्यावयन्तो अच्युता चिदोजसा । मनोजुवो यन्मरुतो रथेष्वा वृषव्रातासः पृषतीरयुग्ध्वम् ॥

They who are worthily worshipped shine with various weapons; incapable of being overthrown, they are the over-throwers (of mountains); Maruts, swift as thought, entrusted with the duty of sending rain, yoke the spotted deer to your cars.

प्र यद्रथे॑षु॒ पृष॑ती॒रयु॑ग्ध्वं॒ वाजे॒ अद्रिं॑ मरुतो रं॒हय॑न्तः । उ॒तारु॒षस्य॒ वि ष्य॑न्ति॒ धारा॒श्चर्मे॑वो॒दभि॒र्व्यु॑न्दन्ति॒ भूम॑ ॥ प्र यद्रथेषु पृषतीरयुग्ध्वं वाजे अद्रिं मरुतो रंहयन्तः । उतारुषस्य वि ष्यन्ति धाराश्चर्मेवोदभिर्व्युन्दन्ति भूम ॥

When, Maruts, urging on the cloud, for the sake of (providing) food, you have yoked the deer to your chariots, the drops fall from the radiant (sun), and moisten the earth, like a hide, with water.
