यम॒ग्निं मेध्या॑तिथि॒: कण्व॑ ई॒ध ऋ॒तादधि॑ । तस्य॒ प्रेषो॑ दीदियु॒स्तमि॒मा ऋच॒स्तम॒ग्निं व॑र्धयामसि ॥ यमग्निं मेध्यातिथिः कण्व ईध ऋतादधि । तस्य प्रेषो दीदियुस्तमिमा ऋचस्तमग्निं वर्धयामसि ॥
The rays of that Agni, whom Kaṇva made more brilliant than the sun, pre-eminently shine; him do these our hymns, him do we, extol.
english translation
रा॒यस्पू॑र्धि स्वधा॒वोऽस्ति॒ हि तेऽग्ने॑ दे॒वेष्वाप्य॑म् । त्वं वाज॑स्य॒ श्रुत्य॑स्य राजसि॒ स नो॑ मृळ म॒हाँ अ॑सि ॥ रायस्पूर्धि स्वधावोऽस्ति हि तेऽग्ने देवेष्वाप्यम् । त्वं वाजस्य श्रुत्यस्य राजसि स नो मृळ महाँ असि ॥
Agni, giver of food, complete our treasures, for the friendship of the gods is obtainable through you. You are lord over famous viands; make us hapy, for you are great.
english translation
ऊ॒र्ध्व ऊ॒ षु ण॑ ऊ॒तये॒ तिष्ठा॑ दे॒वो न स॑वि॒ता । ऊ॒र्ध्वो वाज॑स्य॒ सनि॑ता॒ यद॒ञ्जिभि॑र्वा॒घद्भि॑र्वि॒ह्वया॑महे ॥ ऊर्ध्व ऊ षु ण ऊतये तिष्ठा देवो न सविता । ऊर्ध्वो वाजस्य सनिता यदञ्जिभिर्वाघद्भिर्विह्वयामहे ॥
Stand up erect for our protection, like the divine Savitā; erect, you are the giver of food, for which we invoke you with unguents, and priests (offering oblations).
english translation
ऊ॒र्ध्वो न॑: पा॒ह्यंह॑सो॒ नि के॒तुना॒ विश्वं॒ सम॒त्रिणं॑ दह । कृ॒धी न॑ ऊ॒र्ध्वाञ्च॒रथा॑य जी॒वसे॑ वि॒दा दे॒वेषु॑ नो॒ दुव॑: ॥ ऊर्ध्वो नः पाह्यंहसो नि केतुना विश्वं समत्रिणं दह । कृधी न ऊर्ध्वाञ्चरथाय जीवसे विदा देवेषु नो दुवः ॥
Erect, preserve us by knowledge from sin; consume every malignant spirit; raise us aloft, that we may pass (through the world); and that we may live, convey our sealth (of oblations) to the gods.
english translation
पा॒हि नो॑ अग्ने र॒क्षस॑: पा॒हि धू॒र्तेररा॑व्णः । पा॒हि रीष॑त उ॒त वा॒ जिघां॑सतो॒ बृह॑द्भानो॒ यवि॑ष्ठ्य ॥ पाहि नो अग्ने रक्षसः पाहि धूर्तेरराव्णः । पाहि रीषत उत वा जिघांसतो बृहद्भानो यविष्ठ्य ॥
Youthful and most resplendent Agni, protect us against evil spirits, and from the malevolent (man), who gives no gifts; protect us from noxious (animals), and from those who seek to kill us.
