प्र द्यावा॑ य॒ज्ञैः पृ॑थि॒वी ऋ॑ता॒वृधा॑ म॒ही स्तु॑षे वि॒दथे॑षु॒ प्रचे॑तसा । दे॒वेभि॒र्ये दे॒वपु॑त्रे सु॒दंस॑से॒त्था धि॒या वार्या॑णि प्र॒भूष॑तः ॥ प्र द्यावा यज्ञैः पृथिवी ऋतावृधा मही स्तुषे विदथेषु प्रचेतसा । देवेभिर्ये देवपुत्रे सुदंससेत्था धिया वार्याणि प्रभूषतः ॥

sanskrit

I glorify with sacred rites themighty Heaven and Earth, the augmenters of sacrifice, who (are to be contemplated) with devotion at holy ceremonies; those two, who, cherishing their worshippers as children, are venerated by the devout, and therefore with favour bestow (upon us) desirable blessings.

english translation

pra dyAvA॑ ya॒jJaiH pR॑thi॒vI R॑tA॒vRdhA॑ ma॒hI stu॑Se vi॒dathe॑Su॒ prace॑tasA | de॒vebhi॒rye de॒vapu॑tre su॒daMsa॑se॒tthA dhi॒yA vAryA॑Ni pra॒bhUSa॑taH || pra dyAvA yajJaiH pRthivI RtAvRdhA mahI stuSe vidatheSu pracetasA | devebhirye devaputre sudaMsasetthA dhiyA vAryANi prabhUSataH ||

उ॒त म॑न्ये पि॒तुर॒द्रुहो॒ मनो॑ मा॒तुर्महि॒ स्वत॑व॒स्तद्धवी॑मभिः । सु॒रेत॑सा पि॒तरा॒ भूम॑ चक्रतुरु॒रु प्र॒जाया॑ अ॒मृतं॒ वरी॑मभिः ॥ उत मन्ये पितुरद्रुहो मनो मातुर्महि स्वतवस्तद्धवीमभिः । सुरेतसा पितरा भूम चक्रतुरुरु प्रजाया अमृतं वरीमभिः ॥

sanskrit

Verily I propitiate, by my invocations, the mind of the benevolent father, and the great and spontaneous (affection) of the mother (of all beings). The parents, with kindness, have secured, by their excellent protections, the vast and manifold immortality of their progeny.

english translation

u॒ta ma॑nye pi॒tura॒druho॒ mano॑ mA॒turmahi॒ svata॑va॒staddhavI॑mabhiH | su॒reta॑sA pi॒tarA॒ bhUma॑ cakraturu॒ru pra॒jAyA॑ a॒mRtaM॒ varI॑mabhiH || uta manye pituradruho mano mAturmahi svatavastaddhavImabhiH | suretasA pitarA bhUma cakratururu prajAyA amRtaM varImabhiH ||

ते सू॒नव॒: स्वप॑सः सु॒दंस॑सो म॒ही ज॑ज्ञुर्मा॒तरा॑ पू॒र्वचि॑त्तये । स्था॒तुश्च॑ स॒त्यं जग॑तश्च॒ धर्म॑णि पु॒त्रस्य॑ पाथः प॒दमद्व॑याविनः ॥ ते सूनवः स्वपसः सुदंससो मही जज्ञुर्मातरा पूर्वचित्तये । स्थातुश्च सत्यं जगतश्च धर्मणि पुत्रस्य पाथः पदमद्वयाविनः ॥

These, your children, the performers of good works, and of goodly appearance, recognize you as their great parents, through experience of former (kindness); preserve uninterrupted stability in the functions of your progeny, whether stationary or moving, (depending for existence) on none other than you.

english translation

te sU॒nava॒: svapa॑saH su॒daMsa॑so ma॒hI ja॑jJurmA॒tarA॑ pU॒rvaci॑ttaye | sthA॒tuzca॑ sa॒tyaM jaga॑tazca॒ dharma॑Ni pu॒trasya॑ pAthaH pa॒damadva॑yAvinaH || te sUnavaH svapasaH sudaMsaso mahI jajJurmAtarA pUrvacittaye | sthAtuzca satyaM jagatazca dharmaNi putrasya pAthaH padamadvayAvinaH ||

ते मा॒यिनो॑ ममिरे सु॒प्रचे॑तसो जा॒मी सयो॑नी मिथु॒ना समो॑कसा । नव्यं॑नव्यं॒ तन्तु॒मा त॑न्वते दि॒वि स॑मु॒द्रे अ॒न्तः क॒वय॑: सुदी॒तय॑: ॥ ते मायिनो ममिरे सुप्रचेतसो जामी सयोनी मिथुना समोकसा । नव्यंनव्यं तन्तुमा तन्वते दिवि समुद्रे अन्तः कवयः सुदीतयः ॥

Those provident and intelligent sisters, (the rays of light), conceived of the same womb, (ever) united (with each other), and dwelling in the same abode, metre out (all things); knowing (their functions), and bright-shining, they spread in ever new (directions) throughout the radiant firmament.

english translation

te mA॒yino॑ mamire su॒prace॑taso jA॒mI sayo॑nI mithu॒nA samo॑kasA | navyaM॑navyaM॒ tantu॒mA ta॑nvate di॒vi sa॑mu॒dre a॒ntaH ka॒vaya॑: sudI॒taya॑: || te mAyino mamire supracetaso jAmI sayonI mithunA samokasA | navyaMnavyaM tantumA tanvate divi samudre antaH kavayaH sudItayaH ||

तद्राधो॑ अ॒द्य स॑वि॒तुर्वरे॑ण्यं व॒यं दे॒वस्य॑ प्रस॒वे म॑नामहे । अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ द्यावापृथिवी सुचे॒तुना॑ र॒यिं ध॑त्तं॒ वसु॑मन्तं शत॒ग्विन॑म् ॥ तद्राधो अद्य सवितुर्वरेण्यं वयं देवस्य प्रसवे मनामहे । अस्मभ्यं द्यावापृथिवी सुचेतुना रयिं धत्तं वसुमन्तं शतग्विनम् ॥

sanskrit

We solicit today of the divine sun, his favour being propitiated, that wealth which is desirable. Benignant Heaven and Earth, bestow upon us riches, (consisting of) habitations and hundreds (of cattle and the like).

english translation

tadrAdho॑ a॒dya sa॑vi॒turvare॑NyaM va॒yaM de॒vasya॑ prasa॒ve ma॑nAmahe | a॒smabhyaM॑ dyAvApRthivI suce॒tunA॑ ra॒yiM dha॑ttaM॒ vasu॑mantaM zata॒gvina॑m || tadrAdho adya saviturvareNyaM vayaM devasya prasave manAmahe | asmabhyaM dyAvApRthivI sucetunA rayiM dhattaM vasumantaM zatagvinam ||
