इ॒दं पि॒त्रे म॒रुता॑मुच्यते॒ वच॑: स्वा॒दोः स्वादी॑यो रु॒द्राय॒ वर्ध॑नम् । रास्वा॑ च नो अमृत मर्त॒भोज॑नं॒ त्मने॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय मृळ ॥ इदं पित्रे मरुतामुच्यते वचः स्वादोः स्वादीयो रुद्राय वर्धनम् । रास्वा च नो अमृत मर्तभोजनं त्मने तोकाय तनयाय मृळ ॥
This praise, the sweetest of the sweet, and cause of increase (to the reciter), is addressed to Rudra, the father of the Maruts; immortal Rudra, grant us food sufficient for mortals, and bestow happiness on me, my son, and my grandson.
english translation
मा नो॑ म॒हान्त॑मु॒त मा नो॑ अर्भ॒कं मा न॒ उक्ष॑न्तमु॒त मा न॑ उक्षि॒तम् । मा नो॑ वधीः पि॒तरं॒ मोत मा॒तरं॒ मा न॑: प्रि॒यास्त॒न्वो॑ रुद्र रीरिषः ॥ मा नो महान्तमुत मा नो अर्भकं मा न उक्षन्तमुत मा न उक्षितम् । मा नो वधीः पितरं मोत मातरं मा नः प्रियास्तन्वो रुद्र रीरिषः ॥
Injure not, Rudra, those amongst us who are old or young, who are capable of begetting, or who are begotten, nor a father, nor a mother, nor afflict our precious person ns.
english translation
मा न॑स्तो॒के तन॑ये॒ मा न॑ आ॒यौ मा नो॒ गोषु॒ मा नो॒ अश्वे॑षु रीरिषः । वी॒रान्मा नो॑ रुद्र भामि॒तो व॑धीर्ह॒विष्म॑न्त॒: सद॒मित्त्वा॑ हवामहे ॥ मा नस्तोके तनये मा न आयौ मा नो गोषु मा नो अश्वेषु रीरिषः । वीरान्मा नो रुद्र भामितो वधीर्हविष्मन्तः सदमित्त्वा हवामहे ॥
Harm us not, Rudra, in our sons or grandsons, or other male descendants, nor in our cattle, nor in our horses; inflamed with anger, kill not our valiant men, for we, presenting clarified butter perpetually invoke you.
english translation
उप॑ ते॒ स्तोमा॑न्पशु॒पा इ॒वाक॑रं॒ रास्वा॑ पितर्मरुतां सु॒म्नम॒स्मे । भ॒द्रा हि ते॑ सुम॒तिर्मृ॑ळ॒यत्त॒माथा॑ व॒यमव॒ इत्ते॑ वृणीमहे ॥ उप ते स्तोमान्पशुपा इवाकरं रास्वा पितर्मरुतां सुम्नमस्मे । भद्रा हि ते सुमतिर्मृळयत्तमाथा वयमव इत्ते वृणीमहे ॥
I restore to you the praises (derived from you), as a shepherd (returns his sheep to their owner); father of the Maruts, bestow happiness upon me; your auspicious benignityis the cause of successive delight, therefore we especially solicit your protection.
english translation
आ॒रे ते॑ गो॒घ्नमु॒त पू॑रुष॒घ्नं क्षय॑द्वीर सु॒म्नम॒स्मे ते॑ अस्तु । मृ॒ळा च॑ नो॒ अधि॑ च ब्रूहि दे॒वाधा॑ च न॒: शर्म॑ यच्छ द्वि॒बर्हा॑: ॥ आरे ते गोघ्नमुत पूरुषघ्नं क्षयद्वीर सुम्नमस्मे ते अस्तु । मृळा च नो अधि च ब्रूहि देवाधा च नः शर्म यच्छ द्विबर्हाः ॥
Destroyer of heroes, may your cow-killing or man-slaying (weapon) be far away, and let the felicity granted by you be ours; favour us; speak, brilliant hero, in our behalf, and grant us, you who are mighty over the two (realms of heaven and earth), prosperity.
