ततो दूरात्प्रददृशे धनाध्यक्षो गदाधरः । शुक्रप्रौष्ठपदाभ्यां च पद्मशङ्खसमावृतः ॥ 7-15-16 ॥
Then from afar appeared Kubera, the Lord of Wealth, mace in hand, attended by Shukra and Praushthapada and surrounded by Padma and Shankha.
english translation
स दृष्ट्वा भ्रातरं सङ्ख्ये शापाद्विभ्रष्टगौरवम् । उवाच वचनं धीमान्युक्तं पैतामहे कुले ॥ 7-15-17 ॥
Seeing his brother in the battle fallen from his dignity by the curse, that wise one spoke words befitting one born in the lineage of the Grandsire Brahma.
english translation
यन्मया वार्यमाणस्त्वं नावगच्छसि दुर्मते । पश्चादस्य फलं प्राप्य ज्ञास्यसे निरयं गतः ॥ 7-15-18 ॥
"Since you, O evil-minded one, do not heed me though I restrain you, you shall later, on reaping the fruit of this, come to understand it when you have gone to hell.
english translation
यो हि मोहाद्विषं पीत्वा नावगच्छति दुर्मतिः । स तस्य परिणामान्ते जानीते कर्मणः फलम् ॥ 7-15-19 ॥
Indeed, just as a foolish man who in his delusion drinks poison does not realize it, but at the end of its working comes to know the fruit of his deed,
english translation
देवता नाभिनन्दन्ति धर्मयुक्तेन केनचित् । येन त्वमीदृशं भावं नीतस्सन्नावबुद्ध्यसे ॥ 7-15-20 ॥
so the gods take no delight in any righteous act of such a one—by which conduct you have been brought to so wretched a state that even now you do not awaken to it.
