मातरं पितरं यो हि आचार्यं चावमन्यते । स पश्यति फलं तस्य प्रेतराजवशं गतः ॥ 7-15-21 ॥
He who slights his mother, his father, and his teacher sees the fruit of that when he has fallen under the sway of Yama, the king of the dead.
english translation
अध्रुवे हि शरीरे यो न करोति तपोर्जनम् । स पश्चात्तप्यते मूढो मृतो दृष्ट्वा ऽ ऽत्मनो गतिम् ॥ 7-15-22 ॥
He who, in this impermanent body, does not amass the wealth of austerity, that fool repents afterward, when, having died, he beholds his own destiny.
english translation
धर्माद्राज्यं धनं सौख्यमधर्माद्दुःखमेव च । तस्माद्धर्मं सुखार्थाय कुर्यात्पापं विसर्जयेत् ॥ 7-15-23 ॥
From righteousness come kingdom, wealth, and happiness, but from unrighteousness comes only sorrow; therefore one should practice righteousness for the sake of happiness and cast away sin.
english translation
पापस्य हि फलं दुःखं तद्भोक्तव्यमिहात्मना । तस्मादात्मापघातार्थं मूढः पापं करिष्यति ॥ 7-15-24 ॥
For the fruit of sin is sorrow, and that must be experienced here by oneself; yet the fool, to his own ruin, will commit sin.
english translation
कस्य चिन्न हि दुर्बुद्धेश्छन्दतो जायते मतिः । देवं चेष्टयते सर्वं हतो दैवेन हन्यते । यादृशं कुरुते कर्म तादृशं फलमश्नुते ॥ 7-15-25 ॥
In no one of evil mind does right understanding arise of its own will. Destiny sets all in motion; he who is doomed by destiny is destroyed; and whatever deed a man does, such is the fruit he enjoys.
