"Thus, this song, performed with the rivalry of the demons, is remembered as an external song that is honored by the gods and esteemed by the twice-born (Brahmins)."

धातुभिश्चित्रवीणायां गुरुलघ्वक्षरान्वितम् । वर्णालङ्कारसंयुक्तं प्रयोक्तव्यं बुधैरथ॥ ४२॥

"The song, accompanied by the metallic sounds of the veena and containing intricate notes, adorned with letters and embellishments, should be used by the wise."

"The song that is sung from a place of resentment, arising from the arrangement of words and syllables, is remembered as the external song, born from the envy of the gods."

nirgItaM geyate yasmAdapadaM varNayojanAt | asUyayA ca devAnAM bahirgItamidaM smRtam ||43||

निर्गीतं यन्मया प्रोक्तं सप्तरूपसमन्वितम् । उत्थापनादिकं यच्च तस्य कारणमुच्यते ॥ ४४॥

"The external song, which has been described by me and is associated with the seven forms, and the causes of actions such as the initiation, are hereby explained."

"In the process of initiation, the demons are always pleased. They are also pleased with the offering made to the hands and mouth."
