ब्रवीमि वः कथां गुह्यां यन्मां पृच्छन् सुव्रताः । पूर्वरङ्गविधानस्य तां च मे सन्निबोधत ॥ १६॥
I shall tell you the secret story, which you have asked about, O virtuous ones. Listen to it carefully, for it pertains to the rules of the preliminary rites.
english translation
bravImi vaH kathAM guhyAM yanmAM pRcchan suvratAH । pUrvaraGgavidhAnasya tAM ca me sannibodhata ॥ 16॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रोक्तवानस्मि यत्पूर्वं शुभं विघ्ननिबर्हणम् । तस्यानुबन्धेन मया पूर्वरङ्गः प्रकीर्तितः ॥ १७॥
I have previously mentioned the auspicious rites for the removal of obstacles. In connection with that, I have now described the preliminary rites.

proktavAnasmi yatpUrvaM zubhaM vighnanibarhaNam । tasyAnubandhena mayA pUrvaraGgaH prakIrtitaH ॥ 17॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशस्त्राणां प्रतिकारार्थं शरीरावरणं यथा । क्रियते हि तथा पापं हुतेनैव प्रशाम्यति ॥ १८॥
Just as the body is protected by armor for warding off weapons, similarly, sins of all kinds are removed through the ritual of Homa.

zastrANAM pratikArArthaM zarIrAvaraNaM yathA । kriyate hi tathA pApaM hutenaiva prazAmyati ॥ 18॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं जप्यैश्च होमैश्च देवताभ्यर्चनेन च । सर्वातोद्यविधानैश्च तथा गीतस्वनेन च ॥ १९॥
Thus, by chanting, performing Homas, worshiping deities, and with all the auspicious rituals, as well as through the sound of songs, all obstacles are removed.
