Natyashastra
शस्त्राणां प्रतिकारार्थं शरीरावरणं यथा । क्रियते हि तथा पापं हुतेनैव प्रशाम्यति ॥ १८॥
Just as the body is protected by armor for warding off weapons, similarly, sins of all kinds are removed through the ritual of Homa.
