सन्निपातैर्निपातैश्च तेषां वस्तु प्रकीर्तितम् । समानलक्षणांश्चैव गदतो मे निबोधत ॥ ६६॥
By combinations (saṃnipāta) and single beats (nipāta), their structure has been described. Now, listen to me as I explain those which bear similar characteristics.
english translation
sannipAtairnipAtaizca teSAM vastu prakIrtitam । samAnalakSaNAMzcaiva gadato me nibodhata ॥ 66॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिहत्य दानवं घोरं रुद्रेणामिततेजसा । नृत्यमुत्पादितं चित्रं पूर्वं ताण्डवसञ्ज्ञितम् ॥ ६७॥
After killing the terrible Dānava, Rudra in the past invented the beautiful dance called the Tāṇḍava.
english translation
nihatya dAnavaM ghoraM rudreNAmitatejasA । nRtyamutpAditaM citraM pUrvaM tANDavasaJjJitam ॥ 67॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ भूतगणैः सर्वैस्तस्मिन्काले महात्मभिः । वर्धमानमिदं दृष्टं पिण्डीबन्धैर्विभूषितम् ॥ ६८॥
At that time, the great-souled hosts of Bhūtas created the Vardhamāna adorned with the Piṇḍībandhas.
english translation
atha bhUtagaNaiH sarvaistasminkAle mahAtmabhiH । vardhamAnamidaM dRSTaM piNDIbandhairvibhUSitam ॥ 68॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरितुष्टश्च तद्दृष्ट्वा सपत्नीको वृषध्वजः । प्रददौ तु वरं श्रेष्ठं सह देवगणाधिपैः ॥ ६९॥
On seeing this, Śiva with his consort (Pārvatī) was much pleased, and he as well as the goddess gave them the best boon.
english translation
parituSTazca taddRSTvA sapatnIko vRSadhvajaH । pradadau tu varaM zreSThaM saha devagaNAdhipaiH ॥ 69॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलक्ष्यलक्षणसम्पन्ना मार्गयुक्तविधि(धिः) क्रमैः । वर्धमानप्रयोक्तारो यास्यन्ति शिवगोचरम् ॥ ७०॥
Those who perform the Vardhamāna (rite), endowed with the proper characteristics of aim and procedure, and following the prescribed order and method, shall attain the abode of Śiva.
