After killing the terrible Dānava, Rudra in the past invented the beautiful dance called the Tāṇḍava.

english translation

nihatya dAnavaM ghoraM rudreNAmitatejasA । nRtyamutpAditaM citraM pUrvaM tANDavasaJjJitam ॥ 67॥
