मात्रात्रयस्य चान्यस्य शम्यैका तु ततः स्मृता । चतुर्थ्यां द्वादशस्तालः पञ्चम्यां चाष्टमः स्मृतः ॥ २७१॥
After the next three Matras, there should be one Śamyā. In the fourth Matra, twelve Tālas are prescribed, and in the fifth, eight Tālas are mentioned.
english translation
mAtrAtrayasya cAnyasya zamyaikA tu tataH smRtA । caturthyAM dvAdazastAlaH paJcamyAM cASTamaH smRtaH ॥ 271॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptषष्ठ्यां तु द्विकला शम्या तालश्च द्विकलो भवेत् । पुनश्च द्विकलस्तालः शम्या च द्विकला पुनः ॥ २७२॥
In the sixth Matra, there should be a Śamyā of two Kalās and a Tāla of two Kalās. Then again, a Tāla of two Kalās followed by another Śamyā of two Kalās.
english translation
SaSThyAM tu dvikalA zamyA tAlazca dvikalo bhavet । punazca dvikalastAlaH zamyA ca dvikalA punaH ॥ 272॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशम्या तालश्च तालश्च शम्या तालस्तथैव च । शम्यातालसन्निपात इति वस्तु प्रकीर्तितम् ॥ २७३॥
Śamyā, Tāla, Tāla, Śamyā, and again Tāla—then Śamyā, Tāla, and Sannipāta—together constitute what is called the Vastu.

zamyA tAlazca tAlazca zamyA tAlastathaiva ca । zamyAtAlasannipAta iti vastu prakIrtitam ॥ 273॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा त्वर्धचतुर्थानि वस्तूनि प्रकरी भवेत् । पश्चिमार्धं तदस्यैव तदर्थं प्राग्निवेशयेत् ॥ २७४॥
When four and a half Vastus constitute the Prakarī, the latter half of it should be placed before for its proper arrangement.
english translation
yadA tvardhacaturthAni vastUni prakarI bhavet । pazcimArdhaM tadasyaiva tadarthaM prAgnivezayet ॥ 274॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकनिष्ठासारितेनास्य कार्यं संहरणं ततः । पादः पूर्वसमः कार्यस्त्वपरान्तकशाखया ॥ २७५॥
Its conclusion (Saṃharaṇa) should be performed with the short Āśarita. The Pāda should be made equal to that of the Śākhā of the Aparāntaka.
