Natyashastra
मात्रात्रयस्य चान्यस्य शम्यैका तु ततः स्मृता । चतुर्थ्यां द्वादशस्तालः पञ्चम्यां चाष्टमः स्मृतः ॥ २७१॥
After the next three Matras, there should be one Śamyā. In the fourth Matra, twelve Tālas are prescribed, and in the fifth, eight Tālas are mentioned.
