धनुर्वज्रासिशस्त्राणां प्रयोक्तव्या विमोक्षणे । न भेद्यं नापि तु च्छेद्यं न चापि रुधिरस्रुतिः ॥ ८६॥
Weapons like the bow, thunderbolt, and sword should be skillfully used in their release. However, there should be no actual piercing, cutting, or flow of blood.
On stage, the use of weapons should not involve actual striking. Their release should be represented only through gestures and indications by skilled actors.
Alternatively, the act of cutting should be performed according to the prescribed rules with appropriate gestures, accompanied by movements adorned with Aṅgahāras and combined with Sauṣṭhava (graceful poise of the limbs).
One should properly perform exercises (vyāyāma) in coordination with rhythm (laya) and beat (tāla). Those engaged in such exercises should make efforts to achieve Sauṣṭhava (graceful poise).
