'Kripa said, "O Radheya, thy twisted heart is ever inclined toward war. Thou knowest not the true nature of things, nor dost thou consider their long-term consequences."' ।। 4-44-1 ।।
'Only when time and place are favorable can warfare lead to success. But in this present circumstance, with time against us, no good results can be expected. A display of prowess at the proper time and place is truly beneficial.' ।। 4-44-3 ।।
आनुकूल्येन कार्याणाम अन्तरं संविधीयताम भारं हि रथकारस्य न वयवस्यन्ति पण्डिताः ।। ४-४४-४ ।।
'The appropriateness of any action depends on the favorability of time and place. Wise men never act recklessly or without careful consideration. Bearing all this in mind, an encounter with Partha is not advisable for us.' ।। 4-44-4 ।।
