येन सर्वा दिशो राजन् पिबन्निव निरीक्षते । तस्माद् वकक्त्राद विनिश्रेरुस्तित्तिरास्तस्य पाण्डव ॥ ५-९-४१ ॥
'And, O king, O son of Pandu, from the mouth with which he used to look at the cardinal points as if absorbing them all, a number of quails came forth.'
english translation
यत् सुरापं तु तस्यासीद् वक्त्र॑ त्रेशिरसस्तदा । कलविड्का: समुत्पेतु: श्येनाश्न भरतर्षभ ॥ ५-९-४२ ॥
'O bull among the Bharata lineage! From the mouth through which Trishira used to drink liquor, a number of sparrows and hawks. flew away.'
english translation
ततस्तेषु निकृत्तेषु विज्वरो मघवानथ । जगाम त्रिदिवं हृष्टस्तक्षापि स्वगृहान् ययौ ॥५-९-४३ ॥
And the heads having been cut off Indra was freed from his trepidation, and went to heaven, glad at heart. And the carpenter also went back to his house.
english translation
मेने कृतार्थमात्मानं हत्वा शत्रुं सुरारिहा । त्वष्टा प्रजापति: श्रुत्वा शक्रेणाथ हतं सुतम् । क्रोधसंरक्तनयन इदं वचनमत्रवीत् ॥ ५-९-४४ ॥
And the slayer of Asuras, having killed his foe, considered his object gained. Now when the lord of creatures, Twashtri, heard that his son had been slain by Indra, his eyes became red with ire, and he spoke the following words -

त्वष्टोवाच तप्यमानं तपो नित्य क्षान्तं दान्तं जितेन्द्रियम् । विनापराधेन यतः: पुत्र हिंसितवान् मम ॥ ५-९-४५ ॥
- 'My son was always intent on austerities. He was forgiving, self-controlled and the master of his senses. He committed no crime. Yet violence has been done to him.'
