विनिश्चितमतिर्धीमान् वधे त्रेशिरसो5भवत् । वज्रमस्य क्षिपाम्यद्य स क्षिप्रं न भविष्यति ॥५-९- २१ ॥
The wise one began to think about a means of killing Trishira. He thought, ‘I will swiftly strike him with the vajra today, so that he quickly ceases to exist.'
english translation
vinizcitamatirdhImAn vadhe treziraso5bhavat । vajramasya kSipAmyadya sa kSipraM na bhaviSyati ॥5-9- 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशत्रुः प्रवृद्धो नोपेक्ष्यो दुर्बलोडपि बलीयसा। शास्त्रबुद्ध्या विनिश्ित्य कृत्वा बुद्धि वधे दृढाम्ू । ५-९-२२ ॥
'One who is stronger must not ignore a weak enemy who is strengthening.’ Deciding on a course of action that was in accordance with the sacred texts, he firmly made up his mind to kill him.
english translation
zatruH pravRddho nopekSyo durbaloDapi balIyasA। zAstrabuddhyA vinizitya kRtvA buddhi vadhe dRDhAmU । 5-9-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ वैश्वानरनिभं घोररूपं भयावहम् । मुमोच वज् संक्रुद्ध: शक्रस्त्रिशिरसं प्रति ॥ ५-९-२३ ॥
In great anger, Shakra hurled his vajra at Trishira. It was fearsome and terrible in form. It was like the fire.

atha vaizvAnaranibhaM ghorarUpaM bhayAvaham । mumoca vaj saMkruddha: zakrastrizirasaM prati ॥ 5-9-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस पपात हतस्तेन वज्नेण दृढ्माहत:ः । पर्वतस्येव शिखर प्रणुन्नं मेदिनीतले ॥ ५-९-२४ ॥
Injured and slain by the firm vajra, he fell down dead on the ground, like a mountain peak that has been shattered.
english translation
sa papAta hatastena vajneNa dRDhmAhata:H । parvatasyeva zikhara praNunnaM medinItale ॥ 5-9-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत॑ तु वजहतं दृष्टया शयानमचलोपमम् । न शर्म लेभे देवेन्द्रो दीपितस्तस्य तेजसा ॥ ५-९-२५ ॥
On seeing him slain by the vajra and lying down like a mountain, Indra of the gods still found no peace, because his energy still blazed forth.
english translation
ta॑ tu vajahataM dRSTayA zayAnamacalopamam । na zarma lebhe devendro dIpitastasya tejasA ॥ 5-9-25 ॥
