नृत्यंसंदर्शयामासुस्तथैवाड्रेषु सौष्ठवम्‌ । नाभ्यगच्छत्‌ प्रहर्ष ता: स पश्यन्‌ सुमहातपा: ॥ ५-९-१६ ॥

ascetic

nRtyaMsaMdarzayAmAsustathaivADreSu sauSThavam‌ । nAbhyagacchat‌ praharSa tA: sa pazyan‌ sumahAtapA: ॥ 5-9-16 ॥

कृताञ्जलिपुटा: सर्वा देवराजमथाब्रुवन्‌ न स शक्य: सुदुर्थर्षो चैर्याच्चालयितुं प्रभो ॥ ५-९-१८ ॥

And the nymphs after having tried their best, came back to Indra. And they all with joined hands spoke to the lord of the celestials, saying, 'O, that unapproachable being is incapable of being disturbed by us.'

kRtAJjalipuTA: sarvA devarAjamathAbruvan‌ na sa zakya: sudurtharSo cairyAccAlayituM prabho ॥ 5-9-18 ॥

यत्‌ ते कार्य महाभाग क्रियतां तदनन्तरम्‌ । सम्पूज्याप्सरस: शक्रो विसृज्य च महामति: ॥ ५-९-१९ ॥

'O highly gifted being, thou mayst do what now may seem proper to thee.' The high-minded Indra honoured the nymphs and then dismissed them . -

yat‌ te kArya mahAbhAga kriyatAM tadanantaram‌ । sampUjyApsarasa: zakro visRjya ca mahAmati: ॥ 5-9-19 ॥

चिन्तयामास तस्यैव वधोपायं युधिष्ठिर । स तूष्णीं चिन्तयन्‌ वीरो देवराज: प्रतापवान्‌ ॥ ५-९-२० ॥
