‘There is a vast host of cowherds, numbering ten crores, equal to me in strength and renowned as the Narayanas, all capable of fighting fiercely in the thick of battle.’ ।। 5-7-16 ।।
ते वा युधि दुराधर्षा भवन्त्व एकस्य सैनिकाः अयुध्यमानः संग्रामे नयस्तशस्त्रॊ ऽहम एकतः ।। ५-७-१७ ।।
‘These warriors, invincible in combat, shall be assigned to one of you, while I, determined not to engage in fighting on the field, will lay down my arms and accompany the other.’ ।। 5-7-17 ।।
आभ्याम अन्यतरं पार्थ यत ते हृद्यतरं मतम तद वृणीतां भवान अग्रे परवार्यस तवं हि धर्मतः ।। ५-७-१८ ।।
‘You, O son of Kunti, may first choose whichever of these two options appeals to you, for by law and custom, you are entitled to the first choice.’ ।। 5-7-18 ।।
‘Narayana himself incarnate, the slayer of foes, born among men at his own will, foremost of all Kshatriyas and superior even to the gods and Danavas.’ ।। 5-7-20 ।।
