कूपाश च सप्रस्रवणा देहवन्तॊ युधिष्ठिर पल्वलानि तडागानि देहवन्त्य अथ भारत ।। २-९-२१ ।।

'Yudhishthira, there are also wells with sweet and abundant water, Ponds and lakes, and bodies of water, O Bharata.' ।। 2-9-21 ।।

english translation

kUpAza ca saprasravaNA dehavantò yudhiSThira palvalAni taDAgAni dehavantya atha bhArata || 2-9-21 ||

दिशस तथा मही चैव तथा सर्वे महीधराः उपासते महात्मानं सर्वे जलचरास तथा ।। २-९-२२ ।।

'The points of the heavens, the Earth, and all the Mountains, as also every species of aquatic animals, all worship Varuna there.' ।। 2-9-22 ।।

english translation

dizasa tathA mahI caiva tathA sarve mahIdharAH upAsate mahAtmAnaM sarve jalacarAsa tathA || 2-9-22 ||

गीतवादित्रवन्तश च गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणाः सतुवन्तॊ वरुणं तस्यां सर्व एव समासते ।। २-९-२३ ।।

'Various groups of Gandharvas and Apsaras, dedicated to both vocal and instrumental music, Attend Varuna, singing hymns of praise to him.' ।। 2-9-23 ।।

gItavAditravantaza ca gandharvApsarasAM gaNAH satuvantò varuNaM tasyAM sarva eva samAsate || 2-9-23 ||

महीधरा रत्नवन्तॊ रसा येषु परतिष्ठिताः सर्वे विग्रहवन्तस ते तम ईश्वरम उपासते ।। २-९-२४ ।।

'And all those mountains that are noted for being both delightful and rich in jewels, wait (in their personified forms) in that Sabha, enjoying sweet converse with one another.' ।। 2-9-24 ।।

english translation

mahIdharA ratnavantò rasA yeSu paratiSThitAH sarve vigrahavantasa te tama Izvarama upAsate || 2-9-24 ||

एषा मया संपतता वारुणी भरतर्षभ दृष्टपूर्वा सभा रम्या कुबेरस्य सभां शृणु ।। २-९-२५ ।।

'Accompanied by his sons and grandsons, the chief minister of Varuna, named Sunabha, also serves his master, along with the personification of a sacred water called Go. All of them, in their personified forms, worship the deity. O bull of the Bharata lineage, this is the assembly hall of Varuna that I witnessed before during my travels. Now, listen to the description I provide of the assembly hall of Kubera.' ।। 2-9-25 ।।

eSA mayA saMpatatA vAruNI bharatarSabha dRSTapUrvA sabhA ramyA kuberasya sabhAM zRNu || 2-9-25 ||
