वैशंपायन उवाच वनवासाय चक्रुस ते मतिं पार्थाः पराजिताः अजिनान्य उत्तरीयाणि जगृहुश च यथाक्रमम ।। २-६८-१ ।।
'Vaisampayana said,--"Then the vanquished sons of Pritha prepared for their exile into the woods. And they, one after another, in due order, casting off their royal robes, attired themselves in deer-skins."' ।। 2-68-1 ।।
'And Dussasana, beholding those chastisers of foes, dressed in deer-skins and deprived of their kingdom and ready to go into exile, exclaimed.' ।। 2-68-2 ।।
'The absolute sovereignty of the illustrious king Duryodhana hath commenced. The sons of Pandu have been vanquished, and plunged into great affliction.' ।। 2-68-3 ।।
'Now we have reached our goal, whether by broad or narrow paths. Today, having surpassed our foes in prosperity and the length of our rule, we have earned the praise of men.' ।। 2-68-4 ।।
