अस्माभिर वा जिता यूयं वने वर्षाणि दवादश वसध्वं कृष्णया सार्धम अजिनैः परतिवासिताः ।। २-६७-११ ।।

sanskrit

'Conversely, if we are defeated, we will also live in the forest for twelve years in deer skins and spend the thirteenth year in a populated area, unrecognized.' ।। 2-67-11 ।।

english translation

asmAbhira vA jitA yUyaM vane varSANi davAdaza vasadhvaM kRSNayA sArdhama ajinaiH parativAsitAH || 2-67-11 ||

hk transliteration

तरयॊदशे च निर्वृत्ते पुनर एव यथॊचितम सवराज्यं परतिपत्तव्यम इतरैर अथ वेतरैः ।। २-६७-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'At the end of the thirteenth year, when the period of exile is complete, you will then be entitled to reclaim your kingdom, either through rightful means or otherwise.' ।। 2-67-12 ।।

english translation

tarayòdaze ca nirvRtte punara eva yathòcitama savarAjyaM paratipattavyama itaraira atha vetaraiH || 2-67-12 ||

hk transliteration

अनेन वयवसायेन सहास्माभिर युधिष्ठिर अक्षान उप्त्वा पुनर्द्यूतम एहि दीव्यस्व भारत ।। २-६७-१३ ।।

sanskrit

'With this arrangement, O Yudhishthira, come and resume the game of dice with us. O Bharata, having taken up the dice, let us play again.' ।। 2-67-13 ।।

english translation

anena vayavasAyena sahAsmAbhira yudhiSThira akSAna uptvA punardyUtama ehi dIvyasva bhArata || 2-67-13 ||

सभासद ऊचुः अहॊ धिग बान्धवा नैनं बॊधयन्ति महद भयम बुद्ध्या बॊध्यं न बुध्यन्ते सवयं च भरतर्षभाः ।। २-६७-१४ ।।

sanskrit

'Hearing these words, the members of the assembly, raising their arms in deep anxiety, expressed their distress with great fervor: 'Alas, it is lamentable that Duryodhana’s friends do not warn him of the imminent danger. Whether Dhritarashtra, O bull of the Bharata race, understands this on his own or not, it is your duty to clearly convey the truth to him.'' ।। 2-67-14 ।।

sabhAsada UcuH ahò dhiga bAndhavA nainaM bòdhayanti mahada bhayama buddhyA bòdhyaM na budhyante savayaM ca bharatarSabhAH || 2-67-14 ||

hk transliteration

वैशंपायन उवाच जनप्रवादान सुबहून इति शृण्वन नराधिपः हरिया च धर्मसङ्गाच च पार्थॊ दयूतम इयात पुनः ।। २-६७-१५ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaishampayana continued: Despite hearing these various remarks, King Yudhishthira, driven by shame and a sense of duty, returned to the game of dice.' ।। 2-67-15 ।।

vaizaMpAyana uvAca janapravAdAna subahUna iti zRNvana narAdhipaH hariyA ca dharmasaGgAca ca pArthò dayUtama iyAta punaH || 2-67-15 ||
