भूरिश्रवाः शांतनवॊ विकर्णश च महारथः मा दयूतम इत्य अभाषन्त शमॊ ऽसत्व इति च सर्वशः ॥ २-६६-२६ ॥
'Bhurisravas, Bhishma, and the mighty warrior Vikarna all said, 'Let the game not begin. Let there be peace.'' ॥ 2-66-26 ॥

bhUrizravAH zAMtanavò vikarNaza ca mahArathaH mA dayUtama itya abhASanta zamò 'satva iti ca sarvazaH ॥ 2-66-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअकामानां च सर्वेषां सुहृदाम अर्थदर्शिनाम अकरॊत पाण्डवाह्वानं धृतराष्ट्रः सुतप्रियः ॥ २-६६-२७ ॥
'But Dhritarashtra, partial to his sons, disregarding the counsels of all his wise friends and relatives, summoned the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 2-66-27 ॥

akAmAnAM ca sarveSAM suhRdAma arthadarzinAma akaròta pANDavAhvAnaM dhRtarASTraH sutapriyaH ॥ 2-66-27 ॥

'Vaishampayana said: 'O king, it was then that the virtuous Gandhari, grieving deeply over her sons and driven by her affection for them, spoke to King Dhritarashtra and said:'' ॥ 2-66-28 ॥

athAbravIna mahArAja dhRtarASTraM janezvarama putrahArdAda dharmayuktaM gAndhArI zòkakarzitA ॥ 2-66-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजाते दुर्यॊधने कषत्ता महामतिर अभाषत नीयतां परलॊकाय साध्व अयं कुलपांसनः ॥ २-६६-२९ ॥
'When Duryodhana was born, Vidura, known for his great wisdom, had remarked, 'It would be best to send this disgrace of the family to the other world.'' ॥ 2-66-29 ॥

jAte duryòdhane kaSattA mahAmatira abhASata nIyatAM paralòkAya sAdhva ayaM kulapAMsanaH ॥ 2-66-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवयनदज जातमात्रॊ हि गॊमायुर इव भारत अन्तॊ नूनं कुलस्यास्य कुरवस तन निबॊधत ॥ २-६६-३० ॥
'He cried out incessantly and discordantly like a jackal. It is certain that he will bring about the destruction of our lineage.' ॥ 2-66-30 ॥
