[य] राजन किं करवामस ते परशाध्य अस्मांस तवम ईश्वरः नित्यं हि सथातुम इच्छामस तव भारत शासने ।। २-६५-१ ।।
'Yudhishthira said: "O king, you are our sovereign. Please instruct us on what we should do. O Bharata, we wish to remain ever obedient to you."' ।। 2-65-1 ।।
'This instruction of mine, an aged one, should be understood by you, It is entirely spoken with wisdom, wholesome, and leads to the highest good.' ।। 2-65-3 ।।
'O Yudhishthira, you understand the subtle path of morality. Endowed with great wisdom, you are also humble and serve the elders with reverence.' ।। 2-65-4 ।।
'Where there is intelligence, there is forbearance. Therefore, O Bharata, follow the counsel of peace. An axe falls upon wood, not upon stone.' ।। 2-65-5 ।।
