यतॊ बुद्धिस ततः शान्तिः परशमं गच्छ भारत नादारौ करमते शस्त्रं दारौ शस्त्रं निपात्यते ॥ २-६५-५ ॥

sanskrit

'Where there is intelligence, there is forbearance. Therefore, O Bharata, follow the counsel of peace. An axe falls upon wood, not upon stone.' ॥ 2-65-5 ॥

english translation

yatò buddhisa tataH zAntiH parazamaM gaccha bhArata nAdArau karamate zastraM dArau zastraM nipAtyate ॥ 2-65-5 ॥
