[अर] ईशॊ राजा पूर्वम आसीद गलहे; नः कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धर्मराजॊ महात्मा ईशस तव अयं कस्य पराजितात्मा; तज जानीध्वं कुरवः सर्व एव ।। २-६३-२१ ।।
'Arjuna at this, said,--"This illustrious son of Kunti, king Yudhishthira the just, was certainly our master before he began to play. But having lost himself, let all the Kauravas judge whose master he could be after that."' ।। 2-63-21 ।।
'Vaisampayana continued, "At that moment, a jackal began to wail loudly in the sacrificial chamber of King Dhritarashtra's palace. The donkeys responded to its cries with their braying, and fearsome birds from all directions began to emit their ominous cries.' ।। 2-63-22 ।।
'Vidura, who was well-versed in omens, and Gandhari, understood the significance of these terrifying signs. Bhishma, Drona, and the learned Gautama also cried out, 'Swashti! Swashti!' in alarm.' ।। 2-63-23 ।।
'Seeing these dreadful omens, Gandhari and Vidura, deeply distressed, reported the situation to the king. In response, King Dhritarashtra said;' ।। 2-63-24 ।।
'You, Duryodhana, with your wicked mind, have already brought destruction upon yourself by insulting the wife of the foremost of the Kurus, especially the chaste Draupadi.' ।। 2-63-25 ।।
