ततॊ बाहू समुच्छ्रित्य निवार्य च सभा सदः विदुरः सर्वधर्मज्ञ इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ २-६१-५१ ॥
'Then Vidura, the expert in the science of morality, raised his hands to silence the assembly and spoke the following words:' ॥ 2-61-51 ॥
english translation
[वि] दरौपदी परश्नम उक्त्वैवं रॊरवीति हय अनाथवत न च विब्रूत तं परश्नं सभ्या धर्मॊ ऽतर पीड्यते ॥ २-६१-५२ ॥
'O members of this assembly, Draupadi has asked her question and is weeping helplessly, yet you do not answer her. Such conduct is an affront to virtue and righteousness.' ॥ 2-61-52 ॥

सभां परपद्यते हय आर्तः परज्वलन्न इव हव्यवाट तं वै सत्येन धर्मेण सभ्याः परशमयन्त्य उत ॥ २-६१-५३ ॥
'An afflicted person approaches a gathering of honorable men as one would seek refuge from a consuming fire. They that are in the assembly quench that fire and cool him using truth and morality.' ॥ 2-61-53 ॥

धर्मप्रश्नम अथॊ बरूयाद आर्तः सभ्येषु मानवः विब्रूयुस तत्र ते परश्नं कामक्रॊधवशातिगाः ॥ २-६१-५४ ॥
'The afflicted person poses questions about his rights, as defined by morality, to the assembly. Those present should answer impartially, without being swayed by personal interest or anger.' ॥ 2-61-54 ॥

विकर्णेन यथा परज्ञम उक्तः परश्नॊ नराधिपाः भवन्तॊ ऽपि हि तं परश्नं विब्रुवन्तु यथामति ॥ २-६१-५५ ॥
'Just as Vikarna raised his question with insight, the noble ones should answer it according to their wisdom and judgment.' ॥ 2-61-55 ॥
