एतेषु हि नरः सक्तॊ धर्मम उत्सृज्य वर्तते तथायुक्तेन च कृतां करियां लॊकॊ न मन्यते ।। २-६१-२१ ।।
'A person addicted to these vices lives a life devoid of virtue. Actions performed by someone so engaged are not regarded with respect or authority by others.' ।। 2-61-21 ।।
'And she who is the common wife of all the Pāṇḍavas, the blameless one, Was staked as a wager by that Pāṇḍava who had been victorious before.' ।। 2-61-23 ।।
इयं च कीर्तिता कृष्णा सौबलेन पणार्थिना एतत सर्वं विचार्याहं मन्ये न विजिताम इमाम ।। २-६१-२४ ।।
'Moreover, Suvala, seeking a stake, persuaded the king to gamble with Krishna. Considering all these factors, I conclude that Draupadi was not fairly won.' ।। 2-61-24 ।।
एतच छरुत्वा महान नादः सभ्यानाम उदतिष्ठत विकर्णं शंसमानानां सौबलं च विनिन्दताम ।। २-६१-२५ ।।
'Hearing these words, a loud uproar rose from among those present in that assembly. And they all applauded Vikarna and censured the son of Suvala.' ।। 2-61-25 ।।
